Good question. I think it's a game management thing. Today we should have made sure we went in 1-0 down at least.
We looked a bit panicky and rattled. We seemed to go back to the shakiness of easier in season.
I'm not sure Tayls had his best game. He has been great recently though.

Hirst I wish I knew what’s wrong he looks like a player so short of confidence and it’s just not working for him this season. Sammy I have to admit hasn’t really worked for him since he came to us had moments, clearly works very hard and had injuries but I fear we’re never going to see the best of him. I bet he goes somewhere else and start scoring but I wouldn’t be disappointed to see him leave.
Taylor I wasn’t a fan and really hoped he’d move on in the summer but he’s been good in most of the games recently really contributed. I didn’t see the game yesterday but by the sound of it a lot of players were below par. But we’re not blessed with a lot of midfielders and can’t see how we want him out the door. Hirst well off can't score can't win headers can't hold the ball all his good attributes gone,
Who's at fault no idea,
Eglie, well I think in the future yes, now noo, his ball control touch yesterday woeful and easy to defend as he has to come in hence makes him a passenger, playing out of position when we have burns and mcateer mind blowing,

SS doesn't work in this team. He would work well in a team that plays in behind a lot more but we need more of a Nunez in that 10 position.

Yep. I've tried to push back against that view, hoping he would gel with the team but yesterday made it patently obvious he doesn't fit the system. He's a false 9 not a 10.
Hirst also needs two inside tens, Broadhead and Chaplin, to bring out his best. With Clarke and Jaden as wingers rather than left tens and Nunez flitting between 10 and midfield, he offers very little to the team now. Azon is a better bet and if he can get his finishing right he will be exactly what we need. |  |

I think Taylor being excellent is a bit of an exaggeration- he's had some really good games and done better than I'd have expected but in the games we have lost he has looked short of it when things got difficult. I'd keep him around but I think we need 2 more midfielders in this window if we're serious about promotion. |  | | |

Taylor just isn't consistent enough to hold down a place in a promotion winning side. Luongo was a 7/10 every week. Taylor has been very good in some games for us and absolutely awful in others. We need somebody with the consistency of Luongo. | |

Taylor doesn’t do it for me. He’s looked ok at times but he was supposed to be attacking mid. Previously scored plenty but not any more. I’d offload him asap but need a Louongo type as we’re relying too much on Jayden and Clarke. Last time in this division goals came from everyone but now struggling.

They’re not exactly passengers, just not playing well enough to justify starting at present.
Of the three, I’d probably say Szmodics’ time is up, but just because he doesn’t really fit any of KM’s systems at present.
Taylor’s a useful option for certain games but not good enough for anything other than the odd start or last 20 mins if we need to seal things up a bit. Probably got a bit part to play until the end of season.
Hirst’s game has dropped off a cliff this season for some reason we’ll probably never know. Particularly distressing for him as, I imagine, he had an eye on his one and only chance of a World Cup this summer.
Problem now is actually getting someone in this week who can do Hirst’s old job better than he is at present and not just pile the whole responsibility on Azon. [Post edited 25 Jan 20:49]
