Great signing this - loads of Champ experience, a promotion under his belt, and young enough for KM to improve him (yeah I know only a short term loan at this point).

Think he’s one that’s making any of the top squads in the league - excellent stuff

Well, he looks like a happy chappy doesn't he? We do have a vacancy for a cheeky, happy chappy since Conor left.

Let's hope he adds something. I don't recall him from when we played Sunderland last, although one of the clips in the vid is against us.

Draw a smile on a guitar plectrum and there he is.

….probably second on our list of requirements.

Just the important one to go.

Again.

Sort it FFS.

Not sure I agree with this, the potential to have to play Cajuste, Taylor or Nunez in place of Azor should he get injured has the potential to totally derail the season even more than having to stick with Hurst / Azon / Akpom up front in rotation IMO

Not saying you're wrong about needing a complete striker though we clearly do.

….happy to respect a differing opinion.

My response would be that you’re talking about a bad situation potentially happening, whereas I’m talking about a bad situation that is already happening.

Therefore it’s more important.

So there.

what's the bad situation you're talking about? our inability to score goals?

if azor gets injured/suspended we tend to drop points (see charlton!), if hirst or azon get injured, we tend to carry on gaining points.

would like another striker, but don't think it's more important than cover/competition for the key midfield roles

Is he our 'alternative' to Hackney in terms of style etc?

I know it's only a loan, but appears to fit that mould of player

Thought he leans more towards being a defensive midfielder than a box to box creative/goalscoring type like Hackney?

Cover for Matisuwa, but also could be used alongside him in away games for added grit?

Really happy with this. I think a CM was needed.

Now for the striker...

Truly impaired.

Think he can do a bit of both, can play as a 6 or an 8.

Looks like it. Also a bit like the Mexican play - Marcel Ruiz was it? we were linked with.

Energetic, brave, skilful ball carriers all. Neil and Hackney have done it in the Championship, whereas Ruiz would have been a bit of a punt.

I'm thinking Neil might be the best of the three, but maybe that's just my unbridlable optimism coming out.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

Excellent. Looks more like a Morsy than Azor so will compliment him well - and probably help him as he'll take a big level of responsibility from him in a game.

Glad it;s only a loan - if he wasn't deemed good enough for Sunderland in the Prem (and he'd been their captain!!) then why would he for us? I think this is a perfect example of where the Mackems have been a bit more ruthless, and therefore more successful than we were in building a team for the prem.
Imagine if we'd have bench Morsy when we went up?! That's effectively what they did in benching Neil.

That's a good shout. He's not like Azor, he's not like Cajuste, he's most like Morsy. Good first touch, reliant on right foot, able to turn from pressure, tenacious.... I can see it.

that may have been the plan, if phillips had come in fit and firing. however, he couldn't get there, so morsy played pretty much every game...
