Arsenal are top of the Prem 22:44 - Feb 2 with 858 viewsvilanovablue

Their top scorer is Gykores with 6 goals, it's just a thought as they has been a bit of hand wringing and worries.

Not sure if you have noticed but we are not top of our league so not quite sure what point you are trying to make.

Bit of a false comparison as they average over two points a match - something which we are no where close to matching.

Pointless argument as they have scored something like 50% of their goals from set pieces

Pundits and fans have been critical of him this season. Some think hell move in the summer.

Indeed their top scorer has only 6 goals. Mind you, he is a striker and has himself missed a number of matches, whilst their other two front men have missed virtually all the season until very recently. Not surprising midfielders and others feature high up on their scoring list.

What’s that got to do with literally anything in reference to a parachute EFL side that are 4th? As you say they’re top. People are losing the plot around here!

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Gabriel Jesus has returned from injury on fire. Not a bad backup.

Isn’t it obvious? We need to play our home games at the Emirates. Duh!

What on earth does Arsenal (in the Premier Lesgue) have to do with us?
Like comparing apples to oranges.

You said it yourself, they are top. We aren't and dont look like we will be any time soon unless we start becoming much more ruthless in front of goal. Therefore a goalscoring number 9 would be a big help!

They have a few strange stats this season. They have more under 6foot players in the team (often half the team) than any other PL team on average - although I think B'mouth are also at similar numbers.

Also Arsenel's top assist is 'opposition'. They have such excellent deadball specialists who can deliver a ball that often an opposition player has half flicked/knocked it onto an Arsenal player who scores.

I understand what you are trying to say but . . .

Arsenal have only conceded 17 goals in 24 games, and kept 12 clean sheets. Generally means if they score one goal they get at least a point and 2 goals almost guarantees a win. More importantly between Saka, Gyokeres and Trossard hey have only missed a total of 19 "big chances", meaning they are scoring when it counts (they are Arsenal's biggest 3 with missed chances)

We have conceded 28 goals in 29 games, and only 9 clean sheets which means we usually have to score at least 2 goals to get a win. Between just Hirst and Azon, they have missed 27 big chances, add Akpom (who complete's the Ipswich top 3 missed) it rises to 31.

So aside from comparing PL to Championship, it's about context and effectiveness in front of goal.

If we had scored an additional 12 goals (ie reduced missed chances from 31 to 19 to align with Arsenal) it's almost certain we would be top of the league.
