Of course, he isn't talking about the sort of immigrants that are playing for his club or those that are paying huge sums to watch it. It'll be the 'other sort'

As you say, he is given oxygen by our media. If we don't engage his comments are accepted unchallenged. Maybe they will be accepted by many regardless but I cannot in good faith leave them unchallenged. Martin Niemoller's words ring far too true.
The one lesson of history is that we never learn the lessons of history. It may not repeat but it rhymes.
The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do (or say) nothing.
Miguel Delaney (an Irish immigrant to the UK and a reporter) has just made the point that Ratcliffe's comments are about the families of Manchester United's players. Much as in the minds of the one on here shouting "illegals" they aren't who they mean. But they are. They really are. That's why I want the one shouting "illegals" to say what they actually mean and then to make the connections that it isn't immigrants who are damaging the country. They are a convenient scapegoat for those who really are.
I’ve mentioned something similar before but using our team. People want immigrants gone, so my question to them is who are you playing instead of:
O’Shea Kipre Matusiwa Cajuste Egeli Mehmeti Azon
And then there will be their families and loved ones and employees of the club at all levels. Are you going to deport all of them too? How far does your hatred go?
And Wes and Hirsty. You don’t get more foreign than them!

To be fair on whoever did the interview at the time, I doubt they had the information to hand to fact check it. That was the tactic of the Brexit campaign - release an inflammatory statement based around falsehoods and exaggerations just before prime time news. By the time it was fact-checked and challenged, the message they wanted was already widely received.
As I said, Karveh Solhekol was making the corrections on SSN late this evening.
As for what he was right about ... he did say he was prepared to take the tough and unpopular decisions when running Man Utd.

That’s obviously not what he is referring too this is all about illegals and the ones that come here and do nothing but sponge of the tax paying workers off this once great country, the whole thing is a mess simple as that .
Your kind, and his, were saying similar things about The Jews, The Irish, The Afro Caribbeans, The Africans, The Eastern Europeans and The Asians, throughout the 20th century. So when was "this once great country" you speak of?

I suppose if anyone is an expert about not paying tax, it's 'Sir' Jim...

Also seems to fly under the radar how far off from reality his numbers are. He claims the population has grown by 12 million in 5 years. He's not only a racist piece of sh1t, but innumerate too.
Also, how come immigrants to this country are colonising it, but not when he is an immigrant in Monaco along with the thousands of others?
He also used the word colonise incorrectly. To colonise means to send people to live in and govern another country.
But if you accept his use of that expression, his Man Utd squad has a far higher rate of colonisation than the UK population as a whole.
If he is true to his principles, he surely ought to get rid of all their foreign players and replace them with British players.

Is that an admission that you can't answer my points?
Let me summarise them again.
What do YOU mean by an illegal (which to me is a horrible offensive and unthinking term picked from the extreme right to demonise all immigrants)? The very fact you are equating Ratcliffe's comments about immigrants as meaning illegals suggests that you are equating the two.
What do you think is causing the UK's regression? How?
If there is a debate to be had about immigration numbers, and I'm inclined to think there is, then have that debate in good faith.
What we always get though is this type of language that looks to demonise, that paints all 'foreigners' as bad people, and usually backed with falsehoods.
Whilst I dont doubt that sone immigrants are bad, the vast majority are here either to improve their own lives or to carry out essential jobs for us. In a lot of cases we NEED these people here. The most obvious example being the NHS.
Bottom line though, is that people like Ratcliffe are talking about human beings as if they are dirt, and those human beings will listen to those words, as they get amplified everywhere. It massively increases the likelihood of racist abuse as people feel more emboldened to share the views that have thankfully been made taboo over the last 30 to 40 years.
The worst thing is that the likes of Farage and Ratcliffe couldn't give a flying f#ck about the people they are appealing to, they've just worked out that this is an easy way to mobilise support for them to do the things they want to do to enrich themselves, to lower environmental and safety standards, to remove limitations to them making more money.
If only there was a real time example of exactly this happening in a country that the UK watches closely. Oh.
The world is a hugely depressing place now.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

He has crept back under his stone and you won't get a considered response from him. It's the typical MO of a xenophobic POS.
"12m in six years". Suddenly the decisions to spend £72m on Rasmus Hojlund and £43m on Andre Onana become understandable. Man Utd have been led by an ignorant idiot.

Top Non-EU Nationalities (YE June 2024): The highest numbers of long-term immigrants were from India (240,000), Nigeria (120,000), and Pakistan (101,000), followed by China and Zimbabwe. All except China, formerly in the British Empire.
Top Countries of Birth (2021/22 Census): India (9% of foreign-born), Pakistan (6%), and Ireland (4%) were among the top five, all with strong historical ties to the British Empire.
Commonwealth Shift: Following the end of EU free movement, immigration from the Commonwealth has become the primary source of population growth from abroad, particularly driven by work (including health and care) and study visas.

Another head in the sand moment for you there fella !
It's clear there is an ongoing debate to be had on this subject but single sentence soundbites like this just make you sound ill informed and just parrotting something you've read/heard on line somewhere. It's very unlikely we'll agree on much on this subject, but that's not to say I wouldn't listen with interest. If you believe in what you're saying, just back it up with some evidence and pad out your comments rather than dropping in vaccuous nonsense like this.
Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.
