tonight sums up everything wrong with us, no urgency, nobody anticipants anything, repeat what fails over and over.
Not a single player had a good game. special mentions to Walle and Hirst for outdoing themselves and being worse than they normally are
1000 fans there tonight, they deserve a pat on the back as even by our standards in away games this season, that was bad

The Second Tier podcast even said it would be better if we lost given the fixture congestion.

my expectations were to see a team go out there with a bit of fight about them, a team to show quality in key moments, composure, anticipation.
i expect a player that has cost £17m to pass it to his own player, I expect Cajuste to step up and run the midfield, i expect some sort of urgency in our play. And more than anything else, a bit of pride.
Probably too much to ask though, and i guess I'm the problem.

Explain how having another match in the cup and another league match rearranged as well as the Pompey match rearranged would be beneficial to our promotion challenge.

Let’s be honest our recruitment has been awful. Terrible. Not one player has done anything in the past four transfer windows. Not one.
Matisuwa - worthless
Clarke - pony that’s been lucky with pens and doesn’t do much
Philogene - rubbish especially away from home
Mehmeti - done nothing for us first half of the season
Nunez - been useless in the last month
Delap - what did he do for us? Waste of money
Hutchinson - garbage. Even Forest fans hate him
Furlong - not a patch on Donacien (who I thought was a good professional)
Kipre - what has he ever done?
O’Shea - can’t pass, can’t defend. Obviously a major reason why our defence is so dreadful with nearly a goal a game conceded.
Neil - captained Sunderland’s promotion team. What’s he done for us. Get rid.

Not all transfers succeed. Just ask Chelsea and Liverpool to name but two. Some players have not done as well, or settled as quickly, as I’d hoped. The good news is that if we all batter a young man who is new to this country and English football and who a lot of clubs were allegedly after, we might be able to drive him out as successfully as we did Muric.
Are you saying the players didn’t try or care? Simple question, yes or no. I’ve not watched the game back but if they did that, I’ll be booing with you. 100% effort is the minimum requirement.

Is it a situation where its we can either get promoted or play with a bit of quality/pride in a cup game?
I personally believe that winning is a great habit to get into, and if along the way we can drag the levels of Hirst/Walle/Cajuste up a notch or two it'll only help us in the league. I respect that you don't care we lost. just confusing that an Ipswich fan wouldn't show some concern in the manner we did. | | | |
