They are only 6 points off the playoffs, so of course it's not impossible.
But their form is far from evidence supporting that it will happen.
Over the last 6 games and 10 games they have fewer points than Millwall, Ipswich, Derby and Hull, the teams they would need to dislodge. And they're not making up 17 points on Coventry in 14 games (especially given that Cov have a game in hand).
Plus there are always other pretenders for whom a similar case can be made, based purely on a projection based on a cherry-picked number of matches. For example, if you extrapolate the form from the last 6 or 10 matches over the rest of the season, a period during which Sheff Utd have this positive form, Norwich actually finish above Sheff Utd.
How would be feel about two legs against them? Frankly I wouldn't be chuffed with two legs against anyone, as our away form is really really poor for a team with promotion aspirations. And if Sheff Utd do make the playoffs, they will be in such devastating form that I wouldn't be over-confident. But right now, I guess if you offered me Sheff Utd in the playoffs in the abstract, I guess that's a more favourable playoff draw than some possibilities. |  | | |
