Will not be the end of our automatic hopes. But we certainly have not got time to play ourselves back into form again.
. Therefore a good performance today is essential. 3 points and get the taste of defeat out of our system for a very testing 2 weeks.

I appreciate those who say its not a must win. And they are correct

However its also one you really don't want to not win as for every slip up we make we need those above us to slip up twice more.

Cov arent great away but have a solid home form and run in
Boro bar last week were on a run and no reason why that cant continue
Millwall and hull have joined the party

So whilst no. Not a must win. We dont have the luxury of being able to not win most of our remaining fixtures.

"...those above us to slip up twice more"

I'm not quite sure what this means, but if you're saying the teams above us have to slip up twice for each time we do, that is plainly wrong.

Auto promotion is still in our hands, provided we beat Middlesbrough, take advantage of our games in hand and at least match the results of those above and around us.

Each game week, as I said above, will be about matching the results of those around us. So there cannot be anything close to 'must win' games yet. The closest we may have to a 'we really need to win this game' is the forthcoming Middlesbrough game - and even that will be dependent of the relative results between now and then.

Only Wrexham? They’re 6th in the league.

They are 7th.

It's also worth saying that wins achieved now give us more potential leeway towards the end of the season. It's better to be ahead of the game than playing catch-up.

True words
But this season has continually being played as catch up,
Since the poor start we've been on the back foot,
Now the postponed games arnt helping and no divine right to win,
If Coventry win at 12.30 more pressure heaped on us, (don't think Coventry will win today btw),
We're not a chasing team but we have the best squad ever I'd say so fingers crossed,

If we didnt win today but the others did. Even if we won our games in hand we'd need them to slip up twice more whilst we won to catch them

If boro win today and we lose. Even if we won our games in hand and beat them. Wed still need two further slips to go above them with us winning elsewhere.

You are right its about matching them. But thats also why you cant just see games like today as its ok as theres always next week if we dont win. Especially if they do. Whilst also not ignoring hull and millwall.

I get people are keen to downplay must win games. And they cant really be must win games if mathematically theres still lots to play for.. but because of our August we have unfortunately put ourselves in a position where we are gonna need an extraordinary run of wins to finish top two.

some will tell you that no game is "must win" unless the end result makes it mathematically impossible.

after last weeks showing i really hope they come out with rockets up their arses and show what we are all about, and do a professional job.

I think that last week's showing from our 2nd/3rd team players shouldnt gave any bearing on today's first team. Way too much has been made of how our reserve team played.

What I havent heard is how weakened were Wrexham?

Either way, it's irrelevant to today - I think.

It's not a must win. Psychologically though it's important that we win our 2 games in hand. Do that and it puts a lot of pressure back on Coventry and Boro. Also puts or keeps us above Millwall and Hull.

People are a bit quick to write off Coventry because their form has been patchy. They are a good side and can potentially turn that around - as they proved against Boro. I think Ipswich can make autos but let's be under no illusions about how difficult it's going to be. Even if we win today it's still going down to the wire.

Point remains.

They’ve lost about 10 games at home in the past 4 years. Some of our supporters seem to think because we’ve spent a year losing most weeks in the premier league we have some sort of right to win every game this season. Look at Leicester and Southampton, it’s not as easy as that and they’re all hard games.

Therefore we're saying something similar - it's not about isolated 'must wins' for us, dissociated from everything that goes on around us. The only thing that matters during each match week are the relative results.

I just hope that a repeat of the same kit doesn't mean a repeat of the score. We haven't won in the 3rd kit yet, so I hope that isn't a bad omen.

It's not must win, ffs. After today we've still got a third of the season to go, 15 games and 45 points to play for. Nobody is currently on course to reach 90 points so I'm not sure why you're assuming we'll need 90 points for second. I wish our fans were capable of getting a bit of perspective, treating every single game as though the result will either make or break our season isn't healthy.

It’s not must-win in the traditional sense.

But by winning matches like today, which fall early on in the ‘business end’ of the season, it’ll ease some pressure off the team. By losing today, the pressure will be on to get back to winning ways.

There’s something in the psychology of being outside the top 2 for so long I think in terms of a narrative as well from the outside. No one seems to think we in touch and some have grouped us together with Millwall and Hull lol.

Not a must win, just nice slate of games for our rivals today on paper (as Cov result is showing) and a tricky fixture for us, it would add more some more pressure if we fall further back, I think it’s fair to say that.

I think 86-88 might well get it done.

Tend to agree,it’s starting to look harder every time we lose a game now.
