I managed to get away from work a bit early for a few beers pre match and a lovely pie & mash.

A huge win, a deserved one too against a really scrappy opponent. Delighted for Azor to score the goal. I don't think Hull are particularly good, they've outperformed the underlying metrics for some time and they don't have the depth of squad for obvious reasons. They've now got injuries, suspensions and fatigue starting to hit, and I can see a nervy run in for them. I think they'll do well to stay in the top 6 tbh, especially with Southampton putting a run together. They're certainly not a top 2 contender IMO and we'll be well clear of them come the end of the season.

Of course we don't know what it'll take to get top 2, but I thought before Watford we might need 11 wins from 15, including beating Boro. Not a huge margin for error needing 2.2 ppg and winning nearly 75% of matches. These 3 wins we've had on the bounce are massive, and we've gained 4 points on Boro vs. their last 3 games.

8 wins from 12 feels better, it's 2ppg, and with Leicester, Stoke and Sheff Weds on the horizon there's no reason why we can't get more in the next 10 days. I'm dreaming of 3, I'd take 2.

Another huge one Saturday, win it and we're 2nd.

Mildly interesting, but on early prices last night Hull were available at bigger than 7/1 to get a win (despite having won 5 in a row away from home). Leicester for comparison are around 5/1 (who haven't won any game since 5th Jan).

Leicester game worries me, yes their league position is damning but their players know us very well and (as we've seen) know how to raise it against us. First time in a while where we'll face a team who have the individual quality to do some real damage, I can see it being quite a ding-dong in the manner of our games against them in recent years. Get through that one with a win and my confidence will be sky high tbh.

Yep, same here. There's too much mental scarring from recent games to allow me to be confident. They were in a poor run of results when we played at the King Power earlier this season, yet managed to score 2 worldies out of nothing.

Win this one, and I'm 100% aboard the promotion train, though! If we can do it by coming from behind, that would also get another monkey off the back for the season (not that I want us to conceed, of course!).

Think we'd take a ding-dong if offered - expect Rowett will apply the sit in and break formula that has caused us most issues (but as you say with the potential to hurt us with the quality of Fatawu, Reid, Mavididi et al).

I agree and I think why we rested a few last night, we'll need an early goal!

Yes, evening games and getting back to London afterwards are always slightly hard work but yesterday was well worth the effort. A hard fought win capped by a superb goal is the perfect evening under the lights.

Whilst I would agree that Hull aren't that good, they knew their game plan well and there were signs of why they have done so well in away matches but they lacked any quality when they did break, Liam Millar was especially wasteful with their best opportunities.

Our set up was interesting though, clearly with intent to counter the one thing Hull can do well and make sure they didn't do it, but also to play our own game from that base. I'm not surer we got everything right on the ball, and the last 15 minutes included some careless moments, but tactically it's levels above how we played in 23-24 and very much a blueprint for the Premier League should we get promoted this season.

In such a competitive league, putting a run of wins together has a big impact, the last eight days have been very good but if we can take seven or more points from the next three then we are going to be in a good place.

Also, if anyone went last night and still doesn't think there's much of a bond between players and fans then I'm not sure why. The crowd was supportive last night, maybe passive in the first half but there was a recognition of a cagey match and little of the rush to opprobrium at little mistakes that has been a feature, as the second half went on it got positively loud at times.

And, finally, that goal. Most of our spectacular home goals have been in the Churchmans end so about time we had one in front of the North - those of us in the Cobbold side of NS5 had a great view of it, plenty of time to realise it was going in before it hit the roof of the net.

Rowett will have had a week to set up Leicester to play against us and has proven how to win against us with Oxford. But his playing style and philosphy is at total odds with that squad, and the attitude issues are a big problem for them, as illustrated by their last match at home. I can see the outcome for him their being more Birmingham than Oxford / Millwall.

Agree on that though hopefully we might take a bit of 'pay back' into it after Chaplin/PhillipsGate last season

I've posted elsewhere that we owe them big time. Not only for the poor performance earlier this season, but also for both games against them last season. Robbed by an appalling referee in the home game then an insipid performance at the end of the season.

I trust the players to right these wrongs on Saturday.

Annoying that Rowett is there and knows how to beat us, he spoke well about how he done it pre-match of the Derby game.

McKenna will be wise to it though this time hopefully.

We f’king owe Leicester a hiding IMO - not managed to beat them the last few years.

Biggest game of the season so far for me. I don't normally buy in to the hyperbole around biggest games, but after 3 wins and 3 clean sheets, to make it 4 on Saturday and win all of these home games would be huge and reinforce the confidence we have at home before we're back there. We also have some tricky fixtures in April, so putting points on the board now is vital. A win would put us up to 2nd as well, and shifts all the pressure over to Boro ahead of their trip to QPR.

Without looking too far ahead, April is a really tough month. Saints and Scum away, Brum ans Boro . That’s a real test at the business end of the season. So let’s go big in March and see where we sit end of this month. Having Philogene back certainly would be nice.

Your confidence will be sky high if we win against Leicester? I would suggest that you may be overstating it. I thought you followed Ipswich? Surely you will be fretting that this is the time for Wednesday to get another win / Stoke to do their usual midweek evening thing....

Leicester haven't won a game since 5/1 I believe, we've got every reason to be optimistic, the team should go into the game with plenty of confidence.
