The fact that he is not even starting regularly for Portsmouth might suggest that he is not the player he was 2 years ago. At his best undoubtedly would prosper, but I would argue that Nunez is a better creator . Perhaps too early to judge Mehemiti , but I can see a better goalscorer in him |  | | |

He was anonymous when Portsmouth came over here, except for one classic but wayward Chappers in the hole pullback and shot. It left me teary eyed at the memory but wasn’t a patch on how we did it here. And then he was subbed off. His time with us was up and we’ve moved onwards and upwards.

I think he would have had very limited impact how we play now. Philogene and Clarke wouldn't be setting him up regularly.
I think his confidence and just being in an absolute rhythm has gone now. Portsmouth hasn't been a good move.

Chaplin could still have been an important member of this group, but football is always evolving and the decision was made by the club and Chappers to move on - and all are forever grateful to Chappers, a modern day hero at this club, but comes a point we have to move on as well, and Nunez and Mehmeti have certainly looked exciting replacements in that area.
I think it would be fair to suggest Chappers would have had a greater influence this season for us than Szmodics and Akpom have though, particularly in that first half of the season. [Post edited 5 Mar 9:29]
