Dan Neil - does he improve us? 18:03 - Mar 7 with 1630 viewsDubtractor

I'm not convinced to be honest!

Was superb against a Swansea team who played pretty open, really poor as a sub against Hull, and by some margin our weakest player today. The amount of times he gave up possession which led to them breaking was a big problem.

I'd start with Taylor on Tuesday.

We've seen good and bad.

Really talented player. If you get the Swansea version with a run of games then he's great. He can also play the Matusiwa role better than the other two. It's a good signing. Harsh. To judge him too much given how undercooked he was coming into it. I think he will grow into it and gives us the depth we needed.

He improves us by giving us a much better option in the squad despite being very mixed on the pitch. A better Lewis Travis really.

Was disappointing in giving the ball away loads first half today.

Don't write him off yet.
But its got to be Taylor Tuesday.

Was poor today an£ when he came off the bench on Tuesday but has played really well apart from that. He’s been a good signing.

Irrespective of his performance today, I would have started Taylor on Tuesday anyway.

I’d have started Tuesday with Taylor too. But Neil is a terrific player. His performances have been patchy, but given he’s at a new club in a new area and hasn’t played competitively all season, I am not surprised.

I think he will be an asset in the run in.

I thought we'd have been better bringing Jens on second half to break the lines. But then I also thought Egeli shouldn't have been brought on.

Just to clarify the OP, I'm not suggesting that Neil is poor, just questioning if he makes a real improvement on what we had.

I'm certain he adds decent depth to the squad, but I guess I was hoping to see a clear step up in the starting 11 quality. Hopefully a bit more sharpness will see that over the run in.

I was going to mention this but thought you might. He was a very weak link first half.

In away games yes. In home games we’re better with the class of Cajuste or the drive of Taylor.

Cajuste has fallen down the pecking order. Considering how good he was last season and the money we committed to him, I wonder what has gone wrong.

I'm not sure he's ever really more than 80-90% fit. Some of his spells in games are utter class but it never seems to last long, if he got fully sorted and fully fit I'm sure he'd be a standout in our midfield.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

We are just too open with Cajuste, he really doesn’t do the hard yards, closing, tackling required in the championship.

Taylor is good but also a bit of a liability defensively eg Wrexham.
Neil is a good balance of the two, though today in hindsight I think Taylor was the shout.
Maybe after the second half we may see more of Nunez there as we looked good.

The only Muff in Town.

I'm not sure he's a really talented player. He seems like a neat and tidy decent championship player who just keeps things ticking over without the ability to break in to the box as a goal threat or play a killer pass. There's a place for him in the team but he's not a significant upgrade on what we already have, just a slightly different style of player.

If he was played regularly to get up to speed ( hes not played much football this season so is rusty), but Mckenna does what he does and rotates ....

He was poor today but then Leicester outdone us in midfield

Too early to judge, played such little football this season he’s got no flow to his game yet.

Think on current basis, Jack Taylor looks the better option, he’s had a really strong season, and he’s at full flow for the season.
