The problem it seems to me is that if you looked at the bench last night, I didn't think any would strengthen the team, and with the exception of Hurst, they were actually weaker than our starting 11.

And I am not sure I would call it laziness but our players do go missing with Sheffield United and Wrexham being prime examples.

It seems to me that we just lack the sort of physical/athletic players that Ashton? said we should have bought when we got promoted to the Premier League.

Precisely. With the mega millions spent how on Earth do we have a weaker squad performance wise compared to Boro, Coventry, Millwall and the whole slew of non-parachute teams?

Even Hirst, scored yesterday but fluffed another golden opportunity in injury time. If we had Vipotnik, Gelhardt or Piroe we’d have won the game 4-2

The main problem of this season has been inconsistency. Every 2-3 games it seems we have one major cock up where half or more of the team goes missing. If it’s not laziness I don’t know what it is. It’s like watching a kid with ADHD or someone with bipolar disorder fml

Sloppy is not the same as lazy. on 09:33 - Mar 11 with 999 viewsGuthrum

There were some sloppy periods last night (turning over possession or putting the ball out unneccessarily, losing focus in defence), particularly the last 10 minutes, after our 3rd goal. But wouldn't have said any of the players failed to make an effort or looked unconcerned.

Taylor appeared absolutely determined to make up for his error.

The team fought back from two goals down to very nearly win the match.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

You can claim that we play far too slowly, you can claim that we make too many errors and you can claim the team is too over-coached and you could probably make a strong case for each of those points. But the team is certainly not lazy.

Jack Clarke had an appallingly bad first 45 mins but he kept showing for the ball, kept wanting it and tracked back.

Nothing really to discuss - the team have a few issues but work rate isn’t one of them.

To my mind the spending hasn’t been balanced. We’ve literally spent tens of millions on left and right wingers and virtually ignored other areas of the pitch such as up front and a partner for Matusiwa.

The answer to that is easy. Spending money doesn’t automatically make you a good team. We would certainly be doing better with a clinical striker though, agreed on that. We were trying to land one. We showed interest in Piroe and apparently he didn’t want to drop down. We’ve showed interest in Gelhardt before and nothing materialised. While Vipotnik came out of nowhere (he was poor last year).

We're unbeaten in 5, and the only reason we didn't win all of them is soft, last minute pen decisions going against us. Let's not lose our minds.

Too late for that.

I'm disappointed in our last 2 results. But now our players are lazy, Mckenna is overcoaching them, he is too rigid but he also makes too many changes. Wild.

Flash we could go unbeaten for the remainder of the season it doesn't mean it will help our fight for top two

We do need wins and when you've got the April we do, then games like the last two are where you really do need 6 points instead of 2

I'd beg to differ. I think if we don't lose again that certainly will help.

Obviously we'd rather have 6 points than 2 - my point was it's only two last min pen decisions that prevented that from happening.

So you've automatically assumed both were hitting the back of the net then.
