| So the bubble is defo on the.agenda 20:34 - Mar 13 with 3390 views | bluelagos | Pushed by local plod and Ashton pushing back.against it... (From Ashton's interview) Fair dos to the club for not rolling over on this. Absolute joke of a proposal that should be resisted at every level imho. I'd happily suggest a fundraiser to do a JR on the decision if it did happen. Such a backwards way of policing - putting restrictions on all Towen fans because of a concern of poor behaviour of a small fraction. | |

Yep. I don't think this got as far as court. I actually know the lawyer in question, he's sh1t hot, am sure he would take it on if there's a case to be argued. He represented me in a JR a few years back on a footie related issue that ironically also didn't get to court though we made our point through the legal channels. Anyhow, let's see what happens, I'll defo be getting in touch if it goes ahead to see what he says. . https://thefsa.org.uk/news/hul

Norfolk Plod and NCFC wanted Friday evening kick off. Coach and horses even offered as designated away pub. Suffolk plod and ITFC insisted on different arrangements.

It becomes easier for them to ban all away fans over a spurious theoretical case than to police the crowd.

Ashton and McKenna didn’t want a Friday night game apparently.

True. So Ashton saying it’s all on Norfolk Constabulary isn’t quite bang on the mark. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I just won't go if it's a bubble match. At least the club are pushing back on it. Just been googling and the way they seem to get it authorised is by making it a condition of entry - so a civil issue rather than a criminal one. Spineless tossers hide behind that...pathetic.

We seem to be getting angry about a few things where MA and KM feel differently to the supporters. I see Phil confirmed the club also voted in favour of that ridiculous play-off expansion to the top 8 teams as well…. A timely reminder that just like the fans of every other club in the top two divisions, we’re nowhere near part of the consideration process when decisions are taken. [Post edited 13 Mar 21:30]

Believe they felt it would be an advantage for Norwich to play an evening game, potential for a better atmosphere etc - more drinking time.

If they’re scared to play in that atmosphere I can’t imagine they’re confident for the play offs

I’m surprised any championship club would vote against expansion of the playoffs. The lure of having a crap season but sneaking into 8th and still have a shot at getting up… It’s an horrendous idea but any sane club would vote for it given its life changing potential. Shame on the EFL for suggesting it.

Didn’t care about the atmosphere last time when they gave 400 tickets to club staff Also the last night game between us ended with the home team taking a battering [Post edited 13 Mar 21:48]

And any club that has made it to the Premier League would much prefer a team that sneaked into 8th to be promoted to join them than the one that finished 3rd with 20 more points.

Of course they'll have opinions on fixtures and will voice them. But I can't see how a manager or CEO should be influencing time of away kick offs. Many a time Fergie, Klopp or Wenger had a good moan about the timing of weekend games but don't think they ever influenced match timings?

Scared - adjective - frightened or worried Your posts seem to imply that they are worried about Norwich’s atmosphere giving them an advantage - i.e. they are scared Really not difficult to understand

Clubs will of course lobby for preferences when switches are being considered, especially for a local derby. It’s just one of many voices, and is probably one of the least influential. Wouldn’t we all prefer a game like this to be during the day on Saturday or Sunday? Easier for many I would suspect - and we want the best representation on the day. I just find it odd that some people find any excuse to bash the club (not aimed at you).

Bit odd really when we have a home game prior and it would have given us an extra day to the pompy game...

Pompey game didn’t exist when the decision was made to play Norwich Saturday lunchtime.
