Hackney's injury 18:55 - Mar 14 with 4016 viewsJ2BLUE

Oddly it didn't seem to be mentioned at the end of the match.

Would never wish injury on any player but seems odd it wasn't mentioned at all. Anyone seen anything?

Truly impaired.

Apparently went down, had treatment to carry on.
Then taken off 10mins later. Probably as a precaution.

He came off very shortly after treatment.

Someone on Boro forum saying it's a calf strain. Not sure if that is true. International break might be coming at the right time for them.

Don’t be so woke , I would happily see him injured for rest of season!

Word on the street is that Hackney is out for a month (possibly even 6 weeks!) That could be pivotal for Boro. 4 weeks would probably mean he returns to face us, but it means they have 4 games minimum without their main creative/metronomic force.

Is Hackney our Nunez i.e. they don't win as much without him? Anyone got the stats?

Believe he has been ever present, so not sure there are any stats to support one way or the other, but he is certainly one of their better players.

He hasn’t missed many, if any games so impossible to tell, but from watching several of their games he’s hugely influential, a quick creative player who leads by example. If he’s out they will not replace him with anything like the same qualities.

What he said.

Him missing a few games is definitely a major negative for Boro.

The news popped later yesterday it would seem. Anything that makes things tricky for our opponents is good. Hopefully Hackney makes a full recovery, ideally after our game with them!

What was the news? I can't find anything definitive.

That's from 4 days ago and simply says they're concerned. I thought you had some news?

I took that in conjunction with the tweet above to think that there was something in it.

He would've needed a scan on it, so its not uncommon for the extent of the injury to not be known for a couple of days. If it is his calf its probably a few weeks, as it will be for Burns I would guess. International break might be coming at a good time for them with just the 1 game in 3 weeks.

If he misses Blackburn on Saturday that won't be ideal for them. It's a tricky place to go anyway when they're scrapping for points, and they don't tend to give a lot away at home. Boro have been on fire away lately though, will be interesting to see which way it goes. If we win and Boro don't on Saturday that would be a fantastic way to go into the break.
