Mehmeti and jayden also could be key.. pocket runs and being busy. Akpom might also realish it late on
Johnson imo could be very busy. They've done a fair bit down their flanks. So we are going to need to be hot on that.

If Philogene can start that would be some attacking three with him - Clarke - Mehmeti
Although leaves limited options from the bench.

Whilst Clarke has definitely improved at the defensive side, Philogene still provides better cover.

Johnson is one of the worst one-on-one full-back defenders I've ever seen. Zero pace. I'm tempted to move Furlong to left back to counter the Azeez threat. It's all a bit strange, 8 league starts and 12 sub appearances for a big money signing (though mentioned to be less than the £12m reported). At 24 he's no kid and in theory has all the attributes - speed, strength, height.
There's been signs such as his cameo at Derby and he would have more assists with more competent forwards. If he does get a chance vs Millwall I'd love to see him take it. |  |

I think some just like to criticise whoever is playing and then complain that McKenna isn't playing someone else instead. The amount of grief given to both Walle Egeli and McAteer has been excessive. Neither has had the impact of Clarke nor Philogene. Then again neither did Clarke nor Philogene last season! |  |

Not at all. Its seeing as I said in the op that a weakness of millwall seems to be wingers who get passed their lb and gets the ball into the box.
If wes was available id be saying wes.
Clarkes the other alternative but he tends to tuck in even when playing on right and Johnson will be playing lb. | |

Don't know. I do know Johnson isn't a defensive full-back on either side. Not against pace. Wild, but considering around half Millwall's goals come through Azeez, it's almost worth man-marking him. McAteers underlying stats are good, and he creates a high volume of high quality chances - in fact a couple of months ago when he was getting more minutes, he was one of the best in the division. He's not for blame for others not taking these (sometimes gilt edged) chances.
But some people just have it in for him, and cannot be objective about it. | | | |
