People saying a point a piece is a fair result... 13:17 - Mar 22 with 1074 viewsReusersTown

Just what are you on! We absolutely battered them first half, and they looked like they were from a league below. Second half they scored a good goal and managed to make it more competitive, but it was about level. People's perceptions are being massively coloured by one lucky deflection giving them a massive chance to snatch and grab near the end.

I thought Millwall were good value for a point tbh.

We may have battered them 1st half But we csnt take our chances. Its no good having all the possession and a high xG stat... it means sod all when the final whistle goes and its 1 point instead of 3 ..... no one remembers the games where a team plays like Braxil. People remember who won.

Think with that big double chance at the end we can't argue too much about taking a point. Should have got a second in the first half when on top and I don't think they'd have come back from that. Second half our best chances came from corners, our final choice and final ball from open play was terrible despite getting into plenty of good positions.

They were an away side with a better XG for a start, had about the same amount of corners and shots on goal.

We didn’t take advantage of first half dominance and it was a completely different game after they took their chance.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

How we’ve only managed one goal in our last 3 home games from some of the positions we’ve got ourselves in I’ll never know.

Yes and we have to win games like yesterday as there is no way we got and win at Norwich and Southampton and probably not at West Brom.

So many dropped points. With a bite more composure at both ends of the pitch we could easily have 10 more points.

Oxford away!!!!

Pretty much all of that Xg came from the flukey passage of play where they hit the bar and had 3 shots in the same passage, that wasn't really reflective of the balance of play in my opinion.

Ask yourself how many did Walton make?

Definitely two points dropped. Should have been two or three up by half time. Wall were better after the break, yet we still had some great opportunities in the 2nd half we managed to screw up by making the wrong decisions.

A point reflected was ‘fair’ in that they took their goal well and we couldn’t capitalise on our opportunities. However, a top side full of confidence wins that 3-0 or 3-1.

I don't think this is always the best barometer. We had two headers from corners inside the 6 yard box and put both of them just wide of the post. Those wouldn't have been better opportunities if they'd been headed straight at the keeper.

We've scored 3 goals in our last 3 home games. Did you mean to add an "each" in there?
We scored 3 in the one before that as well.

Agree with this. Obviously a fair result in that it was the result and we should have created and finished more chances in both halves based on our overall play. I reject the narrative being spun around the game that they were somehow better than us and that we were lucky in the end though.

Delve deeper into the stats to understand the game a bit better.

If you could switch those halves around and change nothing else then I think the majority would agree with you. We exerted greater dominance and for longer. As it was though, they increasingly grew and we increasingly wilted. Couple that with the near miss at the end and the sense was that Millwall would have benefitted from extra time, not us. Their momentum at the end was more than one chance imo -- closer to ten minutes.

Presumably at the time you were saying we had to win games like Oxford because there’s no way we’ll go and beat Coventry twice in December.
