| Matusiwa 11:24 - Mar 23 with 2420 views | BseaBlue | I know plenty of us have raved about him this season but he seemed to turn into a prime Pirlo on Saturday. It was really noticable how much he was picking the ball up, turning and getting us playing forwards. Also, he kept trying to play the ball into the strikers feet around the edge of the box in the second half. I didn't think he could do much more to improve on his excellent form but thought he was at another level (Particularly the first half) | | | | |
| Matusiwa on 11:37 - Mar 23 with 2256 views | Stenvict | He was excellent apart from that pass at the death that went out for a throw when we were on the counter attack. | |

Yeah definitely Morsy-like. I really hope that is something we have been working on with him as it was really effective. [Post edited 23 Mar 13:05]

That was inexplicably bad, wasn't it? Superb game from him otherwise.

he is a better athlete than Morsy, and a better ball winner. Nowhere near as good on the ball as Morsy was though. Morsy could dictate a game.

Beg to differ. Matusiwa’s use of the ball is equally as good. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The poor guy was probably exhausted by then . . . how he has managed to maintain the levels he has set himself has been extraordinary.

It has improved for sure. But there may be a hint of recency bias creeping in there.

| Saw a Millwall blogger raving about him on 14:13 - Mar 23 with 1452 views | unstableblue | First half Saturday was the best we’ve seen of him.. and he’d already set the bar bloody high! [Post edited 23 Mar 14:14]

I suspect he'll be poached whether we do or not. Best to try and profit from him being here to get promoted while he is.

As with McKenna, you get the impression that he's not the sort of bloke to go chasing big money instantly the minute it's on offer if he's in a place where he thinks he can develop his career better. Thankfully the world - even the world of football - is not entirely full of mercenaries.

No longer having to hold himself back out of concern for a yellow card suspension.

If we go up I reckon we would keep him. Teams will be looking to find their own Matusiwa in Europe as opposed to paying much more money for one who plays in England.

| Matusiwa on 14:51 - Mar 23 with 1284 views | mellowblue | He had a lot of time and space first half which surprised me. Bit of a fail by Alex Neil. Second half he had a lot more pressure on him and understandably could not repeat that level. | | | |

I feel to the contrary, especially re respective turning circles - Matusiwa completes the turn much more sweetly.

Yeah maybe so. We'll have to see. Hayden Hackney is probably taking some of the attention away from him but I'd still be very surprised if the likes of Fulham, Everton and Bournemouth aren't keeping tabs on his progress.

This is the problem, he is a stand out midfielder at Championship level & has all the attributes that PL clubs would want in a much desired position. The likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle or Crystal Palace will all be looking for a replacement during the summer. Matusiwa alongside Hackney would have been be an awesome partnership this season, that could almost certainly step up to PL level; it is imperative that we go up, or we might be seeing them playing together for Middlesbrough!
