| The Farage stuff looks even worse this morning for the club on 10:26 - Mar 24 by IP1Blue | 46/54 out of the 70 seats in Suffolk are going to Reform if you read the polls. If they are then correct come May, then what as the majority of the county would agree with the club would they not? What happens then? I feel as if this is just one big echo chamber and a lot of people are in for a big shock the future. I don’t want reform to get in, but I’d argue rather than just calling everyone and everything to do with them racist and bigoted is counter productive. Talk to people, listen to why they feel that way and then educate people with the facts of why there wrong. Thats the way to beat them! If we just call everyone racist and bigoted then they’re going to get defensive, not listen and continue the way they are. You say I’ve got ’No Hope’ - I very much do actually! I’d rather enter in dialogue people with respectful conversations rather than bash people for their beliefs, trust me it’s a lot more effective! This forum when it comes to politics feels to be 2 factions fighting rather than engaging debate, it just feels very Cliquey and I can imagine that’s why there are a lot of people who stay silent on here. |
A big win in the council elections doe not mean they have the support of the majority. Labour won a massive majority in the last general election with around a third of the vote. Perhaps some people stay silent on here because they've seen others air similar views to theirs, only to be quickly shot down with facts. Such people don't like the fact that their views are challenged and shown up. | |
