Another one this morning from Reform too.

They (and maybe the club) know what they are doing

Yeah I'm livid to be honest.

I was very much in the "they're entitled to book a facility and it would be pathetic to refuse them- people are making a meal over nothing here" camp.

If those photos are genuine though, I am disgusted. The image of the club is tarnished, inclusivity encouraged by the club is compromised, and supporters will be tarred with the same brush. We need a statement urgently from Ashton to explain and or apologise.

They're probably all sensible enough to say no, make up an excuse like they're not doing visits that day or they don't have the staff. Its not difficult, they need not even point to not hosting political organisations, just put it down to something else and move on. I expect that's what most do.

You really have to question the decision making of some people within the club.

Completely agree.

It now makes me wonder about the politicial stance of our decision makers unfortunately. If some within the club hierarchy are of that poltical persusasion (note, I'm just hypothesising), then that is their right of course, but DO NOT use our football club to push it. Keep it to yourselves!

I'm really not too keen to give the club my money anymore. I just don't understand it at all.

Feels like this could end up being quite the test of the club's 'relationship' with the local media.

I imagine the EADT and the Star would love to run a story on the reaction to this.

People won’t stop going to games but a merch boycott would send a message.

I think its probably just a real lack of foresight, which in itself begs a lot of questions. You know with complete certainty that when you open the door to any political party they could use the materials / images however they see fit.

I don't doubt for a second it would've been played down by Reform, something like 'we'll be in the area with a few hours to kill, a number of our team are football supporters and we thought it would be a nice thing to do as a group before our event in the Town later that day'. You would have to be foolish to believe it though, and whoever in PR signed this off is a proper numpty.

If this was Zach Polanski, Kier Starmer, Ed Davies or Kemi Bedenoch, would there be 10 posts about thi saying how outragous and angry they are? (maybe one from onceablue)

They’re projected to win 46-54/70 seats in the council elections in May in Suffolk. The club are working with the council a lot currently and will need to continue these good relations from May. If we stop working with them just because of political beliefs then that will hold the club back, I don’t think it’s difficult to work out why. I’d expect the same from the club if it was any of the political leaders listed above.

Everyone wants free speech until it’s a difference of opinion to there’s. It’s boring going on this forum and seeing everyone just bash each other because of politics, feels at times this is more of a politics forum than a football forum. I don’t agree with reforms policies, but could have a drink with someone who does, I don’t agree with the green parties policies but again could go have a drink with someone who does.

Embarrassing at times reading this Forum from quite literally all sides the equation.

The photo that gets me is if it's real all the Farage 10 shirts hung up in changing room, when we did a tour we were told we weren't allowed to touch the shirts hanging up, and my youngest was told off for leaning back and his head brushing one

If the club have allowed them to set the dressing room up like that then the story of "it's just a tour they paid for" simply doesn't wash.

The other bits are achievable and would have been hard to stop - we could have taken shirts to hold up by pitch; or pretended to sign when sitting there as all that was allowed.

Not taking away from your point, its important to make your feelings clear but its a bit late now isn't it, the damage is done.

CEO's are paid the big money to make the right decisions and demonstrate foresight, its very easy to be wise after the event.

It gives the impressoin of a ringing endorsement by the club of a party which is openly and robustly bigotted.

Completely in contradiction of the club's supposed values, and in a manner which will actively make many supporters, and indeed players, feel unwelcome.

It is an absurd false equivalence to say that Reform are somehow the same as any other party.

It's nothing to do with stopping free speech, it's about being associated with a well documented bigot and racist. If you can't see this shows the club in a terrible light then I am afraid there is no hope.

Indeed. Free speech is a dishonest red herring. Farage has all the free speech he could ever hear. Free speech does not include a carte blanche entitlement to a photoshoot giving a clear impression of a ringing endorsement from and cooperation with a club.

I've supported Town my whole life, most of it in exile in the North.

I've been the only Town fan in a school of Man United after they beat us 9-0, and watched years and years of utter dross on and off the pitch.

I've never been anything other than loud and proud to be Ipswich. Today is the first time I don't feel that way.

It's just a massive shame. So avoidable and, I fear, irreversible.

Even the best CEOs make mistakes, a real test of effective leadership is how they respond to these - although on the flip side, this does seem a fairly big misjudgement.
