So some may have seen my thread on Saturday about the bus replacement being held up and that I’d be getting to Ipswich at half time. I arrived to the ground about 3 minutes before the second half got under way. The stewards at the north stand fobbed me off and told me to go to various other stewards who then told me I was too late. I protested that I had a season ticket and that the bus issue was literally out of my hands. And that I’d attempted to call the club ticket office to make sure I could get in but couldn’t get through to anyone. At that point, I saw someone else trying to get in and went to that steward who had the door open. They saw I had a season ticket but said again I was too late. I argued for a minute before she scanned our tickets but for whatever reason scanned mine twice. And the latter time told me mine was now in use and fobbed me off to some sort of manager steward. I explained she’s literally just scanned it twice and that’s why it’s in use. They told me to go to the ticket office to resolve it. The ticket office was closed. I carried on to where the co-op stand car park player entrance section is.
At that point, a couple of blokes (security team I think) actually listened to me, seemed to agree I ought to be allowed in with a valid ticket having just travelled for three hours and then walkie talkies the head steward (I think). He said that ‘the lad is a season ticket holder, has been held up and with the second half just started, in a rush to get in’. The person on the walkie talkie replied with ‘well he should’ve turned up on time then shouldn’t he’. I was obviously now f**ked off. When I eventually was taken in, they escorted me to the north stand and I literally said I’ve been treated like a criminal here. ‘I’m a season ticket holder and you are treating me like I’m some scum bag’. ‘Is it normal practice to assume season ticket holders are criminals?’. No response.
Then 48 hours later I read on here a far-right racist scumbag in Farage is being welcomed by our f**king director of communications?
We might be going up again etc and the stuff on the field is fantastic but me being treated like that, and then Farage gets a full-on welcoming 2 days later… that ain’t the Ipswich I grew up supporting. [Post edited 24 Mar 15:18]

That's not good at all. Sorry you had to deal with all that. I've turned up at half time before to get into the north after being delayed and there was a helpful steward who let me in.
I thought they had someone in each stand to deal with late arrivals.

Sounds like Rommy was unlucky because I was in the same boat last season. My lad had been playing in a match and we arrived just as the second half was starting and after the turnstiles were closed. I managed to get the attention of a steward in the North stand who let us in scanned our tickets and let us up to the Upper tier. | |

The weird thing is the website actually states you can’t enter after the turnstiles shut at half time. That’s a stupid rule in itself seeing as I had a valid ticket I’ve paid for for years and years | |

Today. And the previous two years?? We might not be in a situation where many players, coaches. Managers, sponsors, supporters, current and future winttouch us with a barge pole!!
The consequences are massive. And the walking EGO is AWOL. Destroying our club isn’t even is worst day in the last two years!!
From wanting everyone to sing ‘shit on the Villa’ and make our promotion about him and him alone, to the obvious £220 million spent poorly and paying a manager more than Barcelona without a single seconds experience as a manager at elite level.
He’s always been a control freak driven by self interest alone, 35 years of evidence suggested exactly that.
Ideally 18 months ago was the time for scrutiny, oversight, and questions. But surely now is the second best time?
You know. Just after one mad EGO has potentially destroyed the entire future of OUR club.
It’s a small pond we’re fishing in for talent now, in the modern world, players especially do care about these things, they have a brand and an image - it’s important!!!
OUR CLUB could be totally destroyed by this - and your focus is on the politician who tbf to him is doing his job, and not on what WE can influence and control - looking after OUR brand OUR club OUR future!!
Marks worked hard to be the ONLY voice in the room for executive decision making .., CEO and Chair with no financial skin in the game is almost unique. It speaks of his ego, and lack of football oversight from our owners.
I’d suggest we focus on that - and getting the EGO out of the building in the summer while there’s something of our club still left!!
We are TOXIC now. Not a political point. We shouldn’t allow any individual party not in power in the club like that!! It’s so unecessary. Only Mark gained form this, it’s clear where he sees his personal future - so maybe you CAN criticise him now??? No?
It not just Mark that’s destroyed our brand.., everyone that allowed him this level of control has skin in the game too.
