Protest 21:01 - Mar 28 with 9011 viewsjasondozzell

We can't just let Ashton get away with this. They are banking on apathy and time meaning it all just goes away.

I know a lot of you feel the same.

It puts them under pressure but I am hoping that Blue Action can do something.

They saved the club from Evans and they can do the same with Ashton.

I don’t think that would help. It would sew division. It is obvious that the majority on TWTD find Reform abhorrent, but we are a very small minority of Town fans. Much better for those at Portman Road next Saturday to use their energy to support the team.

I suggest an anti-fascism or anti-racism protest. It would echo what Ipswich fans have stood for in the past and no one now could then object to such a thing, shirley...

Poll: After the video, how do you feel?

I get you feel strongly about the whole situation but this is now the 10th thread you’ve started on the same subject since yesterday. It waters down the overall message and starts to make it look like what some on here would label as bed wetting.

Also not that it matters but BA didn’t save the club from ME, Gamechanger did.

There will be pro Farage chants.

Burying our heads in the sand won't help.

If Farage had come and taken a picture I'd have no problem. But Ashton has literally given Reform the club for a promotional campaign and then lied about it.

Do you think it's acceptable?

Not true. Evans only sold to Gamechanger because of sustained pressure from BA.

Get a grip.

There probably won't be. The stakes of the game are too high. If there is, i'm sure they will be drowned out very easily.

We had morons chanting 'George Hirst hates Palestine's BEFORE all this. You really think it's not going to be an issue?

No but a 50th post by yourself on twtd would probably get a protest of 10 or less. What are you proposing to do then?

Yes. All that .He knows that he has upset a huge number of fans, but won’t properly apologise. What is more important, eiterating our displeasure at Ashton , which is not going to have a great effect, ?or giving the team full support

I suspect there is already enough pressure behind the scenes and have the feeling it will grow, rather than lessen, over the coming weeks & if necessary months.

Not sure that in practice there will be enough of a united front among the support for the kind of movement you suggest, even if I utterly 1000000% agree (and, where the slipperiness is concerned, can confirm at first hand) that what's happened is an absolute disgrace on numerous levels. The Louise Cobbold thing today backs up the harm that has been done, it's unbelievable.

This said, the best course of action is probably to back the players & manager – who deserve it, as does our club as a whole – to get promotion and then see what happens in the summer. I imagine changes aren't all that far off.

I'm not saying it was just them but they played huge part. Remember the mock newspaper on the gates at PR? They didn't let Evans get away with it all.

Agree but I wished I shared your confidence that change is on its way. Did Ashton strike you as thinking that in the interview? The Americans have ducked out of taking responsibility.

You don’t seriously believe someone would sell a multi million pound football club because of pressure from a very small group of supporters?

And do I think what is acceptable?

Ashton meeting Farage? Yes

Allowing Reform to use the club for promotional purposes? No.

His apology? As far as apologies go, it was pretty bad, almost laughable.

Do I care that much now? Not really. I think there will be action internally at the end of the season but I don’t think now is the right time. We have a huge 5 weeks ahead that to me is far more important than any feeling I have for the club. One man doesn’t define this club.

Utter bollox. If GameChanger hadn’t been right for the club, he’d still be here.
And I hated the guy more than most.
