| Protest 21:01 - Mar 28 with 8598 views | jasondozzell | We can't just let Ashton get away with this. They are banking on apathy and time meaning it all just goes away. I know a lot of you feel the same. It puts them under pressure but I am hoping that Blue Action can do something. They saved the club from Evans and they can do the same with Ashton. | | | | |

Ipswich was up for sale long before blue action did anything. Evans informed the FA he wanted to sell over a year before the training ground incident

That's nonsense, ME had been looking to sell ITFC to the right set of buyers for years.

They are, but, as with much in life, I do not believe that this is a binary decision. It is possible to support the team and protest the leadership. It just needs to be considered. [Post edited 29 Mar 10:45]

Was just about to reply saying the same thing - I’d rather be in League Two than be in the Premier League with everyone thinking of us as “Reform FC”.

Indeed, I’m right behind the team- but modest Mark needs to leave asap.

Because that would have been incredibly disrespectful to the women's team? Apparently he wasn't even there anyway.

Theres a risk that town becoming a prem team means that we may end up giving reform an even higher profile based on this recent connection. Considering how much air time prem clubs get and considering reform have used Louise's picture as a tweet of their own. You can be sure they would milk promotion as much as possible.

I'm not going to argue with you there. I think the OP got a little het up yesterday (understandable, emotions were high for a fair few), but he appears to have taken advice on board to maybe take a step back for a bit. Hopefully he can come back a little more rational. [Post edited 29 Mar 11:07]

True, but I think a protest is too far. If there is one, I won't be taking part. That's my choice.

Fair play, it was only the one fascist and modest Mark only lied until he was caught, he’s hurting and unreservedly apologised. [Post edited 29 Mar 11:22]

Not true JD Evans wasnt looking to sell he was looking for investors. Three lions however only offered full ownership hence it was off then on again.

| Protest on 22:07 - Mar 28 by Guthrum | I don't think the Americans have ducked out of anything. It's been five days. Sacking the man at the head of an organisation like ITFC with no replacement is simply not viable. There are too many things to oversee and keep running. Can't just temporarily install his deputy, as Werhun was also involved in that lunch. They'd need to find the right person, secure their services, then get them installed and begin the process of getting them up to speed on all the intricacies of running Ipswich Town in the midst of major expansion, redevelopment and, most significantly, the final weeks of the season with a strong shot at promotion. It's probably not a very sensible idea for the good of the club. Plus the damage is already done. All we are seeing now is the ripples spreading out. Removing Ashton will not stop the memes on social media, the possible chants from opposition fans, the sense among many supporters that the club doesn't feel quite as close or as welcoming as it did. For the future of the club, far better that it be done carefully and well, than hastily leading to regret. |
Maybe Like Trump The Americans Prefer Farage! Just saying…… [Post edited 29 Mar 13:31]

I doubt that, 40% of the club is owned by a native American investment fund.
| Protest on 13:41 - Mar 29 with 416 views | darkhorse28 | Agree. We need to stand up. Or we are Ashton FC. That’s our choice and that should unite everyone across the political spectrum. If we want to stand up against him, it has to be because he’s commercially destroyed us, our brand, our future, for his ego and his political career. We need everyone to understand what the implications are in terms of revenue, and talent retention and recruitment, TV won’t be allowed to touch us, after the games we already have contracted, they won’t risk far right away fan baiting, they can’t take the risk for their sponsors. We are losing revenue and it will go to our competitors. This is about football, and killing our club with horrific self interested decision making. If it continues to be about left and right party politics, Ashton wins, we will be divided and hard to stand up to him. This is about competence, overreach, lack of integrity, and why he thinks he’s bigger than OUR club. Let’s get this self interested moon faced, ant hill mob, out of our club, for incompetence, lack of governance, and massive over reach of his roles…, he has no right to conflate us to any political party exclusively, and no right to lie about it. But we will need to reach across party politics to get our club back, and to make it about football alone, stand together against Mark. His treatment of media, and fan groups, tells a story of a man who at least does understand divide and conquer, control dynamics. His ‘I care’ sociopathy is terrifying - we need to unite to get him out. The consequences if we don’t - I don’t know we exist at that point. Worst case…, I’ve got semi deep pockets, and can maybe attract investment. (Maybe Ed will get involved). Certainly there would be interest. FC Ipswich Town …, a phoenix. we go again, the bottom of the pyramid, and leave Ashton FC to Mark and his ideology and disciples. We’ll pass them on the way up - you can bank that. Our new club ‘football for the love of football’ - the game that’s given me so much, around the values of Bobby and Alf, because it’s about community, it always was. FC Ipswich Town - we’ll be a sporting community club built around the models across the clubs Bobby managed abroad, other sports, all ages, the whole community, with football the beating heart, where excellence is the goal. The best version of our community we can be. Europe by 2040. More than the sum of our parts. Let’s show Mark what football IS. | | | |
