Boro players feeling it? 19:35 - Apr 6 with 2108 viewsZx1988

Interview with Luke Ayling just now:

"We've got to win all five to have any chance". Sounds as if they're dangerously close to writing themselves off.

Good.

Had dinner with a boro fan last week who said they were done. From the highlights of their last few games it seems they're not playing too badly but not scoring

I mean he’s not really wrong, the max they can get is 87 points now and obviously that would include winning at PR. We are in a fantastic position.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

I think that's a bit pessimistic.

I can't see us winning 5 of our 7 matches judging by today's performance. Happy to be proved wrong though.

His body language definitely suggested he had given up. Same with the manager when Swansea scored their 2nd penalty. I don't think there is any belief in the camp there. They are struggling to score and have won very few games recently. HIghly unlikely they will win all of their next five IMO.

That's my thinking.

None of the top four are going to have a 100% finish. If Boro have any fight left in them, they'd be focusing on the fact that other teams will slip up.

That said, I can understand their mentality that us losing three of the next seven might be a big ask.

Context - we won.

Context - Boro didn't.

Context - Milwall didn't.

Context - I thought we showed real grit today, Brum had a right go and caused us problems but we stood firm second half. I'd argue that defensive display comes at just the right time.

that's the danger of post match interviews when the adrenaline or disappointment is high, Honesty is to the fore and the wrong things are said.

They feel like they're done and will fail in the play offs.

They remain a very good team. For me they have played the best football in the division but they have the same problems we have had against teams sitting back. They don't have an out and out scorer or poacher type (a bit like us). I would say the only reason we are above them is we have a bit more depth. Hackney has been the real difference for them. Morris is equally important but Hackney just gives them an extra edge.

They’ve massively bottled it from the position they were in though, 3 points in 15 is a shocking return. I’m still not counting them out as whatever happens in between the game against us will still be crucial, either for them to get back into it or for us to perhaps almost end their automatic hopes.

They've definitely missed Hackney.

It’s been said …. But this championship isn’t great … Middlesboro aren’t great. We should beat them comfortably.

They certainly have to win four of the last five. They've pout a run like that together before but their confidence is rock bottom and they are missing Hackney for a few more weeks.,

They’re in poor form. In isolation it’s not the worst result today, but that’s now only 2 wins in their last 10 games. Since Christmas (19 games) they’re 8th in the league.

They looked decent today, but can’t break down a low block. Hackney is obviously a huge loss for them.
