| We disrespected Portsmouth on 22:05 - Apr 14 with 1593 views | Radlett_blue | We've been rotating all season, as we should with our deep squad. Statistically, we have performed better after making a few changes than when not. Easy to use hindsight after tonight's shocking performance. I thought the starting XI was fine & should have been good enough to control & win the game, but unfortunately there were 2 teams on the pitch & Pompey were trying to win the game as well. | |

| We disrespected Portsmouth on 22:07 - Apr 14 with 1521 views | The_Flashing_Smile | I don't think we disrespected them. We have a lot of games in a short space of time and needed the squad. Several of them didn't turn up tonight, but it's not through McKenna not respecting the opposition. Those players shouldn't have been that bad. | |

But he does imo show a lack of respect for certain teams regardless of his words in press conferences. If he really felt pompy were better than their league position etc... that tonight doesnt happen.

If you are unable to bring in a £15m winger, £8m CAM and £11m RW to rotate after a big game Saturday for freshness, and it is a hinderance, you’re in serious trouble. The key trio we bought in to tinker cost more than most squads in the league.

I don’t think the number of “unchanged sides” we have put out is enough for any statistical arguments! That must have happened once or twice? I do wonder how we would have performed this season with a a more settled side. Ie having a more traditional “main 11” and very little tinkering except for subs. I do agree with your points though! I agree but my point is the rotation is overdone. These are professional athletes. When did not playing 90 mins a couple times a week become such a difficult thing? Taylor and Philogene were great Saturday yet both are benched.

Disagree - he just rotated the team as he has all season. He may have got it wrong but I don't think it was about underating Portsmouth
| We disrespected Portsmouth on 22:13 - Apr 14 with 1308 views | Kievthegreat | The selection did not disrespect Pompey. You're just blubbing because we lost and lashing out at the wrong things. It's fine to think the selection was wrong. I do. I think we should have just swapped Leif for Johnson and not broken up the CBs. But it's 6 games in 18 days, we need to make use of the team to not run ourselves into the ground. We're going to make a minimum of 3 changes every game till the seasons end. Respect has nothing to do with it though. | | | |

Philogene, I understand, in fairness. He has just come back from injury.

| We disrespected Portsmouth on 22:15 - Apr 14 with 1262 views | JakeITFC | It won’t be the lineup on Sunday because of the ability to change it tonight though - you can’t just flog these players from the start every game. | | | |

Just played Greaves left back in a tough away game because Leif is welcoming his first child - don’t think there was anything else changed balance wise?

When the game is as physically demanding as it is now. And McKenna has always made it clear how hard his players have to work. The 'professional athletes' thing doesn't really wash I don't think.

We’ve constantly rotated under McKenna, that isn’t anything new, it’s only a problem when it doesn’t work. We used to rotate with Ladapo, Jackson, Hutchinson and Harness, and they used to slot in seamlessly. The fact our Championship galacticos can’t step in to the side is more a reflection they just aren’t consistently good enough - that’s a recruitment issue, not a rotation issue.

Yes it massively changes everything From a defensive point of view greaves tucks in to much when he goes wide It effects set pieces It effects the understanding of the defence with balls in the air, positioning etc On the ball it changes the passing angles, the passing patterns of play Off the ball greaves doesnt offer the same as other lbs in an attacking sense. He tries bless him but it doesnt work esp with clarke.

It not working tonight was more about Clarke than it was about Greaves. The talk of "disrespect" is just weird, people are talking as if we just dropped Young and Boniface into the side.

Why. Did she tell km not to play Johnson then? And also. If she gave birth sunday. Why couldn't davis play tonight. Genuine quesrion as ive defo seen players play a day after a birth and used the game as a celebration esp if they scored.. was km being kind and allowing a few days off because it was just pompy?

Christ. Not all births are the same, you have no idea how they're all doing. His missus gave birth two days ago, leave it at that and stop plucking hypotheses out of thin air.
