A really sad day.... 17:51 - Apr 16 with 13746 viewsBanksterDebtSlave

A little bit look at me but mostly I just wanted Bloots to know!!
Just this moment sent this....

Dear Sir/Madam
After some 16 years or so of having a season ticket that's it for me and my daughter. The Ashton/Farage debacle had pretty much made up my mind and now these price increases are the final straw. Money and corporate disregard/lack of accountability have done for me and I fear ultimately the game too.
Yours etc....

But when we have different stances to you and the gang on here, you're all pretty vile and show zero empathy to our views.

Please explain the difference.

Im all ears....

I am fully empathic that your meanness comes from a place of deep pain and a sense of unfulfillment wavers, I'm here if you ever need someone to open up to....PM me.

As long as their isn’t 6000 of us reconsidering the club won’t care as the waiting list is there for them (personally don’t believe there’s 6000 waiting, more guff from Ashton)

That's kind of the problem though isn't it!!

They might also be reconsidering when those on the waiting list turn them down with a message saying, "sorry, we do not wish to take up the offer for as long as Ashton remains at the club."

I find it unbelievable the club hasn't dealt with the issue.

Anyway, im waiting for an explanation about empathy.

Maybe one of the gang can help Herbs

I want to know how empathy works, TWTD Elite style

How about someone with mixed race kids that cannot justify taking them to somewhere that gives a platform to someone such as Farage? You cannot empathise with that?

Not sure regular basis is correct, but I know you love a trawl back in your abundance of spare time, so I maybe proved wrong.

As I said, let's see.

It takes seconds to tab through page after page of your tediously repetitive nonsense.

You really need to find yourself a healthier pursuit for your spare time rather than getting constantly worked up into a pathetic and pitiful froth on here….

It used to great on here when people let me say whatever I wanted and giggled along - (Rough translation of post from un-named TWTD contributor, 2026)

Excellent. I’m pleased. I don’t agree. But I am glad he is at ease with it.

Personally I think what Farage personifies is dangerous and what it encourages sows division. It’s not something I’m willing to subject my kids to.

It’s given me the impetus to really have a look at what hobbies I engage in, and what the wider impact is of the hobbies I encourage my kids to have.

I’m pleased that you and your family are comfortable. That’s what everyone wants.

However, to downthumb Newcy for simply relaying the experience of his family, because it differs from that of your your own, is frankly disgusting and shameful.

I just think he is the most thoroughly unpleasant individual I have seen post on here and that is quite an achievement.

EDIT: Sorry to see your decision, BDS. Perfectly understandable but sorry it has come to this.

Strange, considering their family is of immigrant roots and as such, those roots would have been on Farage's hate list, had he been a politician back then.
Farage is not your friend. He is a very wealthy grifter, only concerned with making money for himself and his mates.

Maybe I am over simplifying here as Im not in your position, however.

The club has not in any way endorsed Farage, they foolishly let him play them like a fiddle (which Farage is good at). They attempted an apology that was never going to be good enough in a lot of peoples eyes.

Aside from this, all I see is the club (and football in general) working hard to make itself as inclusive as possible. Theres always more that can be done, but I feel the community stuff that the club is involved in is very good.

Im not aware of any issues or incidents involving race at Portman Road, although I may be wrong.

Therfore, my thoughts are that you've chosen to decide that the clubs mistake is enough for you not to take your kids to the football.

Appreciate Im probably over simplifying horribly in your eyes, but I struggle to see why you have made this decision or actively support it.

However, im not you (obviously) and you are rightly free to make whatever decision you want to do.

My issue with empathy is that surely it should work all ways, something that clearly doesn't happen on here.

You don’t know how empathetic I am friends with people who I couldn’t disagree with more when it comes to politics.

You’ve stated you struggle to understand my stance. You are unable or unwilling to empathise with my stance.

I don’t claim to be a good person, I’m not. I’m a protective father though. I can empathise with people, I understand that to some people the Farage thing was nothing. A politician visited, so what? Bit of publicity for the club, some publicity for Reform. Hell, some people may even think it’s brilliant, Farage, a supposed man of the people. Each to their own. It’s been a fascinating few weeks.

Just because you’re unwilling to empathise with people doesn’t make those people wrong. That’s what you seem to be doing.

I’ll say it again so that maybe you can understand. The incident has given me the impetus to evaluate what the wider impact is of the hobbies I have, and the hobbies that I include my children in. It has given me pause for thought to research what organisations those hobbies are involved with and give a platform to, and whether I consider them to be an appropriate influence for my kids.

If you cannot understand that, then I don’t think it’s worth carrying on with the discussion.

You really have missed one helluva lot then.

I've been called "paedophile fan" amongst other gems from a few on here over the years who've never had a decent word to say to me, whereas bentley has been quite kind & caring behind the scenes.

Not that that's any excuse for some of his public utterances, but he's certainly not been the most "thoroughly unpleasant".

A lot of stuff (but by no means all) happens late at night, & is swiftly deleted by Admin, so is often seen only by a few night owls.

He is pretty astute for an 18 year old when it comes to politics and I know you and others on here wont want to beleive this but my grandson doesnt think Farage is a racist, facist or any of the names the media and others throw at him and feels ok with Farage as Reform has a diverse set of people i.e a Muslim Laura Cunningham running for Mayor of London, Reform UK Home Affairs spokesperson Zia Yusuf and a Gay chairman Dr David Bullalong others not so high profile. However, he did say he wasn't sure how he would cast his vote ien the upcoming local elections.

I am not sure why you think I won't want to believe it.

I do want to get into the mindset of why someone who is politically astute does not think Farage is racist. It is proven from those who know him best and his interactions with them over many years and is public knowledge. Anyone who is politically astute must be aware of that.

I also accept that Reform has a diverse range of supporters and representatives. Many of the ex-Conservatives who are now Reform candidates/MPs would have had their own parents deported had they had power a generation ago. I do struggle with that mindset but I know they exist. I am also well aware that the economic ideology of low taxation and low public services is very much in line with Conservative ideology (although more on Truss-like levels).
