I share a name with the lyricist, who passed a few years ago. I used to regularly get emails to my personal address from people thinking I was him, though to get my email they'd have had to visit my website which in no way is the platform of a 70+ year old songwriter.
I used to reply politely and honestly, and more than once was asked to work on films. One person asked if I was the writer of his name, I am and said I was, and over a couple of months we discussed me writing the lyrics to his musical film such had something to do with a boxer that found Jesus on the top of a hill in Canada. He sent me the script and I gave him some ideas before he asked if I wrote My Heart Will Go On....
He stopped emailing me after that. But AI often thinks I won an Oscar, and puts a photo of him next to works by me. Because it's garbage. [Post edited 20 Apr 7:16]
