Sounds simple, but if you asked 10 people you’d probably get at least three different teams. You have to factor in who might be carrying injuries - personally I’d want Naylor to start but towards the end of both Norwich and Middlesbrough games he’s been having to do stretching exercises, which is perhaps why he didn’t start against Portsmouth, and why KM might not start him tomorrow. I’d also pick McAteer but is he fit after going off Sunday? [Post edited 21 Apr 22:10]

Sounds simple when you play without constraints of the real world, doesn’t it. But we have no idea what injuries or niggles are being managed, do we.
We would all probably agree that Matusiwa should be first on the team sheet, so is part of the best team? Was it right to play him at Portsmouth? That seems to have been a mistake, but represents playing the best players.
If it was the start of the season, it would be easier - but right now we have to trust Kieran to choose the 11 that a most ready for the game, which might not align with who we think are the best 11 in the squad. [Post edited 21 Apr 22:27]

Might have been lucky with some penalties but definitely not been lucky with the cancelled fixtures and runs of away games.
Wouldnt say it's against us because if we had taken 4 pts from Pompey/ Boro we'd be one foot in the PL, we've also not been good enough sometimes.
Still in our own hands though, 6 points between now and 3pm Saturday and we can put the champagne on ice.... |  |
