I chose Brazil for the excitement he offered, if only for a couple of years, but Mills would be the more sound choice given all he did for the club, and the fact that I think he is the most capped England player whilst at the club.

But in the end I went for those whose contribution was not only immense, but outlasted them all. Beattie, in that his reign was much shorter than the others, and was not as decorated, should therefore not have featured - except that he was the Beat!
