Yes/No, will we go up as runners up? on 18:03 - Apr 23 by VanSaParody

Yes, easy!

Leicester will beat Millwall tomorrow night meaning we only need 3 points from 3 games, which will lift our players for Saturday lunchtime & we'll get those 3 points before we visit Soton

COYFB'ssss!!!!

Oh that would be so sweet. Even a situation where we only need a point Vs QPR on the final day a la Huddersfield in 2024, would rip your arm off it's socket for that

Even if Millwall lose we may need more than 3 as Soton can also get to 82 points and our GD is only 6 better than them. Lose 0-3 to them and that goes. So we would need 4 points to be sure.

Good spot, however, by definition, if we beat West Brom, our GD will b at least 1 more than it is now, so Soton would have to beat us 4-0 which I don't think will happen, but you're right, a draw out of 1 of our last 2 after beating West Brom would leave no doubt!

I'd really hoped Leicester would still be in with a shout of staying up and go us a favour. Now with the fan protest and boycott planned for Friday I'm thinking an easy night for Millwall.

West brom are on a roll but we can put in a performance when we need to so hopefully this is it. Never think we'll get beaten but a draw is not good enough in either. Maybe Southampton will be drained after Saturday and that will be the easy one....

I'm saying yes but we're going to have to perform. We've been unconvincing of late even when getting results.

By the way where the hell is the reply to thread button on this forum. I can only reply by quoting the last post

I expect us to draw at WBA and Soton and still finish 2nd. Leicester's home match against Millwall tomorrow will be huge - but Millwall will pick up a point at most.

Yes.

Southampton have been too successful recently. I remember how several Leeds United teams of the 1970's would be chasing a triple (i.e. the League, FA Cup, and a European competition), but would fade due to exhaustion, and end up winning nothing. Southampton, especially with Downes out for three games, may experience something similar.

If Wrexham win the play-offs and are promoted to the Premier League, we will only need to be above two other teams to stay up next year

Millwall drop points to Oxford on the final day.

We lose to WBA but beat Southampton and QPR is where my mind is currently at.

I’m a little more confident after the Charlton game, but I’m still not 100%. Tomorrow’s game is going to be a really tough test against WBA, especially the form they are in. We come through that unscathed and I’ll be edging closer to yes, I still need more convincing. Hopefully, Leicester City might surprise us all tonight……fingers crossed!!!

I really don't want to say No, but I feel that the most likely scenario is a draw Vs WBA and Southampton and win Vs QPR and finishing on 84 1 point behind Millwall. Which would be brutal.

I'm probably 60% no 40% yes

However the fact it's in our hands and we don't have to win all 3 is a major factor

That's the scenario that I just can't stop landing on in my head too. The massive goal difference swing would count for nothing, & 2 away results against form sides, that would be considered good points to pick up in normal circumstances, would leave us feeling completely deflated.
We need to forget about Southampton & QPR for now, and go just all out, with our best XI on the pitch, to secure the 3 points against WBA, right from the start.
Also, no giving away soft goals to their very first attack!

Maybe.

Suspect we'll all go through the wringer a bit more between now and next Saturday afternoon.

Still don't think it's nailed on that Millwall win both games either.

At this rate We’ll probably lose at the Hawthorns, beat Saints then lose vs QPR. But still go up in 2nd.
