Walton Furlong O'Shea Greaves Johnson Neil Taylor McAteer Nunez Clarke Hirst If Davis is deemed fit then I'd swap McAteer for Johnson. Matusiwa is dead on his feet so save him for QPR.

Not often you get a match to win promotion, has to be strongest team.

For all the comical finishing this season, he wins it. Through on goal from a wee dink from Nunez, no one expects it, least of all him. Somehow he manages to get a deflection off his own leading leg and it loops over the on rushing keeper.

Yeah, go for the win and trust the team. We've beat the champions twice, we can beat Southampton.

Is a clearly unfit Matusiwa the best option? We were over run in midfield on Saturday for large parts of the game. Since picking up his dead leg Matusiwa hadn’t shown anywhere near his previous outstanding form. Clarke is still our top scorer and Jaden limped off at the end of the WBA game.

Walton Furlong Greaves Dara Davis Azor Taylor Jaden Nunez Kasey Azon If Leif isn't fit, then Greaves at LB and Ben Johnson at RW for Kasey. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| After much deliberation about whether to go on 21:17 - Apr 26 by J2BLUE | Assuming the formation is rigid... Walton Furlong O'Shea Kipre Johnson Neil Matusiwa McAteer Mehmeti Clarke Azon Reasoning: Greaves rested, not dropped. Saving him for QPR while not significantly weakening the defence. Johnson better for counter attacking. If Davis is fit, I would save him for QPR as well. Was tempted by Philogene but save him. He's scored all his open play goals at PR. Until 2 minutes ago I was thinking we should start Hirst. Then I thought no, he knows how to handle this pressure. Rest him for QPR. Nunez saved for QPR. QPR team: Walton Furlong O'Shea Graves/Kipre Davis/Greaves Taylor Matusiwa Burns Nunez Philogene Hirst Can see what you are saying about Matusiwa but what is the alternative? The wildcard could be Cajuste if he's fit in this sort of game. I just can't see McKenna not starting Matusiwa. I think of him as our second captain. |
Can't see kipre starting tonight, It's going to be a fast game on the ground not a high ball bombardment,

I think Azor has looked a lot better last couple of games, wasn't completely on him that we got overrun and without him we are even more likely to get overrun by Saints. Don't think we can play Taylor and Neill in the but guess we will see. What does being top scorer have to do with his recent performances? I think many would agree he's far off it at the moment. Doesn't mean he won't play tonight and have a blinder, just that if philogene is fit I would start him. They have nearly the same "goals per 90", Clarke has played more though. SB

| After much deliberation about whether to go on 12:12 - Apr 28 with 177 views | darkhorse28 | Strong or weak. We’re there points away from the premier league. And they’re needing to win both for the same. Who in those circumstances is ever resting players? We’ve got the most depth in the division, players who are under played if anything, no cup runs, lowest games played by a lot of players and I think it’s 120 rotations of players .., not sure of the exact stat, but it was on talksport yesterday, we’ve rotated players more than any other side in the division by a massive distance to even the next team. We also had 15 days with no game before this block of games. We won’t rest anyone (Leif if he’s not 100%) but that’s just because it’s a quick turnaround. Not situational. We’d ideally want him on the pitch, if it’s possible. It will be very fine margins this game, and in football you’re owed nothing against QPR, it’s not how the game works. Remember Huddersfield - nobody ever mentions it because of the outcome …, we were dreadful, awful, and they looked every inch a club wanting Leeds not to go up. In fact I’d 90% say they didn’t try an ounce, QPR will try, they will turn up, and if we play like we did 23/24, we won’t win. This is our best chance. Our second best chance is Saturday. You don’t mitigate your own chances - if you have two opportunities, you don’t intentionally reduce it. Saturday is another day, we could rest players and lose 0-3 against QPR, that’s football. We could lose tonight, but fatigue shouldn’t be the issue if we use the squad as all championship clubs have to. When you’re close to a goal, you don’t take your foot off.., the opposite. You grab it with both hands, and the first opportunity and don’t give nerves, fate, a bad decision, luck, a moment of magic from the opposition the opportunity to deny what you’ve worked a career for. When the door is open. You kick it off the hinges, you don’t ask permission from your competitors to knock. It’s there. You have to want it. ‘You have to want to die for three points’. | | | |

Matusiwa's levels have dropped since his injury. And it can't help that he is being flogged to death. His average ratings since picking up the dead leg against Brum is 5.9, 6.8, 4.3, 6, 6.5, 5.8 Average rating of 5.88 From his previous six games it was 7.1, 6.9, 6, 6.7, 8.2, 7.6 Average rating of 7.08 The poor bloke needs a rest.

There are two games left, not sure a rest for this one is going to make a huge difference. Will have to disagree on this, I'm with the others on the thread who think we should go as strong as possible. Anything else risks being "too clever". It'll be spun either way on here depending on the result. SB

Happy to agree to disagree. But I don't think an unfit Matusiwa makes us full strength.
