An alternative is Eastgate Car Park, which is also under a mile from St Mary's...
One can also park at Southampton Central and get the shuttle bus from there

Far side of the Itchen Bridge. Some street parking + a car park, 20 mins stroll to the ground, and easy escape after the game. |  | | |

I was considering this, but you only have the one train from Southampton to Basingstoke - cant see us getting to the Station by 2200, so you are stuck with the 2300 - by which time the gridlock will have dissipated anyway | | | |

Dependant on your direction of travel (M3 or A3/M27) you have stations at Eastleigh and Fareham (frequent trains) with cheap parking and access by train to Southampton: Southampton Central and Woolston. (These offer better access to motorways). The car parks near the ground will be jammed packed. I expect the attendance to be huge followed by traffic problems. Look at car parking options on the web for Southampton with a 20-30 minute walk. | |

I believe Solent University have public parking and quite reasonably priced. It’s a very short walk to the Stadium from there. |  |
