So weird too that the whataboutery always brings up the Green Party. As if the only people annoyed must be Green Party supporters (or 'lefties').
Ashton made a big error of judgement. Annoyed (some) players, staff, and sponsors. Then lied. Then apologised for nothing. Then hid. He's been lucky that results have been more critical and favourable.
Add on top the sub-optimal transfer dealings and the very least this club and manager deserves is a higher caliber of business leadership.

I don’t think today’s the day, but just to clarify this is more about people sticking to their principles. Which is easy to do when there’s no consequences, but not so easy when you get singled out for it. The issue meant different things to different people; possibly if it was just about the politics it could have been put to bed. But the lying from the club has made that hard. |  |
