Also his passing is so much better. Everything now comes trough him. Contrast how good he is on the ball from the Norwich game at home earlier in the season

He does a fantastic job of being in the right place at the right time. Occasional mistake here and there but a solid 8.5/10 in every single game. Captain leader legend.

Being Captain will have "helped" that lack of bookings for any gobbiness, but not particularly for lack of bookings from bad tackles.

Bookings for dissent should be kept to a minimum, if any, in my opinion. Also bookings for retaliations.

The only red card we got was in the abandoned game at Blackburn. We were 4th in the table for yellow cards, so we certainly weren't guilty of being too "nice".
Jack Clarke was 4th highest scorer in the Championship, despite only starting half the games, although 6 of his goals were penalty kicks.

The Wrexham debacle was a blessing in disguise as far as he's concerned. Just got better and better since then and now looks a PL defender. Growing into the captaincy week by week too, in his own way.

And with a 15 man squad. Their schedule was just insane, todays guys would look at it and shake their heads in disbelief. But let's not let that steal any thunder from the guys today. This is their time and another chapter written into the amazing history of ITFC.

It was the latter game that made me pause for thought today. They had 2 shots in the game, we had 38 & we lost 2-1.

It’s certainly rare in modern times. Gary Lineker of course famously went his whole career without receiving a single card. Well over 600 games and not a single red or yellow. They weren’t dished out like confetti then though, but it was still considered a feat at the time.
