| Who's our Senior Pro next season? 17:20 - May 3 with 1601 views | Zx1988 | Who do we get in to replace Ashley Young? I guess Kalvin Phillips was our attempt at that last time out, but he didn't work so well. In an ideal world we'd probably look to combine them with the Xhaka-type signing that we could probably do with. | |

Tbf, he'd be like a rock next to our other defenders.

I just checked and Kieran McKenna was technically Lukaku's assistant manager in his last season at United! Get it done Ashton!

Trippier is a great shout! I'll throw Callum Wilson in there

Looking more likely he may move on being at the end of his contract, but if he did decide to stay, not only do we get a player that has been on the full journey over the past few seasons, but would leave any new players in no doubt what it means to play for the club, with the added bonus that I think he still has a lot to offer on the pitch (something we sadly didn't get a huge amount from Keogh, Aluko, Young) [Post edited 3 May 19:34]

Is trippier the sort to be a good senior pro? Genuine question, no disrespect to the bloke, I see him as a bit of a lad who wants to play more football, not an Ashley Young, Sone Aluko, Dom Ball type, settling in to be a role model and play sparingly. Not that there is a standard definition of what they provide.

“Didn’t get a huge amount from … Aluko”? Wash your mouth out
| Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt |

Fair cop...loved him as a player, so was always disappointed not to see more of him on the pitch Think he probably played about 50% of the gametime we had in League One, so definitely a bigger contribution than the others...

Tell Napoli we'll go through on the Cajuste deal if they'll let us have Big Rom as well.

I don't know but he's somebody who is a model professional in terms of commitment and giving his all. He's someone who has been able to get the absolute max career out of the talent he has. And I don't mean that in a disparaging way whatsoever. If he can play a fair bit as he seems to be good enough as at least back up at very least, but also be a standards setter in training and behind the scenes then it would be win win.

Yes. Runs the Newcastle dressing room still to this day. Off the pitch I think he likes a drink (he sort of comes from that old school era still) but he has had an elite career despite that.
