Players loaned in - sign permanently or order them a taxi to the airport! 21:44 - May 3 with 2289 viewstetchris

Kipre - absolute unit, yes from me. Sign him up!

Akbombed (Akpom) - no thanks rather have a bath bomb from lush. Apparently we have to buy him for £7m upon promotion. Fingers crossed MA can get us out of that one! Taxi!

Cajuste - has the quality but over looked in favour of Taylor and surprisingly Neil. Probably not returning unless cut price deal can be negotiated. Taxi!

Neil - hasn’t done enough to earn a deal even if he wanted to stay here, no from me! Taxi!

Azon - I like him but he falls over too easily, and should have scored more goals. Taxi but maybe another season loan can be negotiated?

I think we have look for upgrades on all of them.
Niel - can see why Mackems replaced him
Akpom - might be ok, but has done nothing at all to suggest it
Hirst - keep him, but shouldnt be our main striker
Cause- didnt do it last time in the prem, no reason to think he will this time. Hasn't improved as a player
Azon - keep him as a 4th option

All in all we need a major upgrade in most positions. Davis should be ok, if he's leant the lessons of last time. OShea - he'll be fine. Clarke & Philogene both deserve another crack at it. But the rest - love 'em as I do, I just think we need to upgrade.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

If we want to stay in the PL none of these are good enough.

None of these players would get close to Sunderland/Leeds team.

I like Jens, but he’s not quick or powerful enough.

We need to sign players with lower and pace.

Agreed if you mean power and pace.
I really like the character of most of them.
Azon has a fantastic attitude, Cedric, Jens, and Neil all seem good eggs, but Championship is as high as they go for me. If we'd stayed down I'd keep these 4. I think Akpom is really unhappy.
The Prem is brutal. If we're honest, none of them are good enough. If only Ivan could keep calm in front of goal, but his strikes are just League 2 level at best. So its a taxi for 5 and best of luck for the future.

Poll: would you rather

Kipre (legend for that Norwich goal), Akpom, Cajuste are a no thanks, good luck. Especially Cajuste and Akpom. There’s no end product from the former and fitness is poor and the latter seemed off the pace in the Championship, so I can’t see what he’d have to offer a level up.

Neil? I doubt many will agree, but I see something in his game. He has no pre season and spent much of his time looking on at Sunderland. If the fee was modest enough, I’d sign him - I think.

Azon? Agree. Still quite young there’s a lot to like. He’s a good little player with a great, feisty attitude. However, he appears to snatch at chances and doesn’t look a natural finisher. One thing about the Premier - chances are rare and have to be taken. I’d take him on a season’s loan and only in the absence of a better alternative.

If we have genuine ambitions to remain in the EPL I do hope we look for proven quality and pedigree in our signings and not sentiment because they got us promoted. Kipre for me, is not an EPL centre back but it seems like a deal had been previously agreed. We need to make key signings that will give us the best chance of survival if that’s the club’s aim. We all know the gulf between the Championship and the EPL is huge, because players got us back there doesn’t mean they are of that level.

Poll: Where are we going to finish?

I agree with what you say about Azon in his general play. He has struggled to score goals consistently in the Championship and ultimately that will be what he’s judged on by all of us. As you rightly mentioned he isn’t suddenly then going to get us the goals we need to stay up in a higher standard of football against better defenders, if he’s found it tough going this season. He’s one of those forwards that needs copious amount of chances in games, he's not going to get that in the EPL, he’s simply not clinical or composed enough for me you either have that goal scoring instinct or you don’t.

Disagree with this, but interested to know the thinking. Greaves had a great game at Carrow Road, but for me Kipre is the better player. Sort of reminds me of the difference between Cam Burgess and George Edmundson, in that Kipre/Burgess is the much harder, more solid player who wins a hell of a lot in the air, whereas with Greaves/Edmundson I can't really put my finger on what it is they're specifically good at. For a chap of his size don't think Greaves quite wins enough in the air. Think Kipre is far more assured with the ball at his feet as well.

Cant tell everything from statistics but not much of what you say is backed up in the numbers ...

Greaves is better than Kipre in the air with regards to total aerial duels won and % aerial duels won. With the ball at feet they've created a very similar amount (although that will be skewed by Greaves' few outings at LB.

Defensively per 90, Greaves makes more tackles and has more blocked shots and interceptions.

I cannot fathom this love in for Kipre. A very basic and average Championship centre half.

He scored against the scum, worth £2.5m in my book.

Akpom - no , really disappointed with the signing as expected more

Cajuste - leaning no as he was disappointing this season but got potential

Neil - Sunderland haven’t been using him in the prem and therefore we should find better quality that position , although I do think he’s decent

Kipre - not sure he can cut it in the prem and I doubt he’ll be making many starts , that said he has got that bit of grit and 2.5m is a bargain. I don’t think I would’ve signed him but we have now…

Azon - leaning no but perhaps he could be used in a different role / be a different option - almost Heskey-esque , wins the balls , frees up other forwards , like we saw with the Burns goal v saints ? I like Azon so would be cool to see him stay but his goals return doesn’t justify him getting signed
