Much as others don't seem to like him, Vipotnik knows where the net is and appears to be the type of striker who would suit us. I would be happy with him because that is what we are desperate need of. I would be happy with Lankshear because my Oxford-supporting friend tells me he just lacked service there. With our creativity he would get goals I am sure. Does he count as a Championship rival?
I would take Hackney or Downes but only if we can't do better. We need more solidity in midfield but I would prefer another Matusiwa-type signing from abroad.
Ultimately we need to improve on the business we did before but we are at a much better starting point than before. We also are unlikely to be signing established Premier League regulars so we have to identify players from outside the Prem. There is no reason why some of the right ones aren't going to be from the Championship. Delap and Hutchinson were. Szmodics worked too until he got injured. |  |

We have to go after Hackney & Jordan James, both would be top signings for us in an area we’re short.
Azeez is another I’d like to see. I think we’ve been linked with all 3 in the past so none would surprise me assuming Boro or Millwall don’t who up.
I wouldn’t go near Louza, he’s looked good for Watford but I’m not sure what he would add to us, and at 27 he isn’t one I’d be looking at. |  | | |

I think Lankshear is a player we would definitely look at if we had failed to be promoted - I'm not convinced he is the calibre of player to leapfrog Hirst in the prem next season, even if we did sign another first choice striker as well | | | |

Pererz = great shot stopper - but I thought he was pretty dodgy with the ball at his feet and launched it straight out on a number of occasions. You could also argue the Burns goal he could have done better for. No question his recruitment coincided with an uptick of form for Saints, and he has made some really good saves, but not sure he would make our team a lot better.
