I'm sure most of us would want to remove his Town career from our memory banks, but in case anyone is interested, he left Shrewsbury in October but joined Bury FC in January, & they won the NPL West last season. Mercifully, Toto only appeared twice but has been retained for next season.

Nice bloke, tried hard but was a walking penalty just waiting to happen.

Think we played Leeds (may have been a preseason friendly) and he was immense - strong, powerful and seemed ok on the ball…..I thought we had brought a proper bargain. Unfortunately it went downhill very quickly from there.

Tried hard but was shit. Can't really hold any animosity if they put in a shift.

Some people thought he was good.........!

I can't remember who but someone was referring to him as a clean sheet "king" or something similar.

Ah good times.......! I still maintain he's one of the worst players we've had who has played over 50 games.

There was that YouTube vlogging group who has some weird agenda that he was our best defender and should play every week iirc.

But it very rarely happened. People formed a view and then looked for evidence to support it rather than vice versa.

Never understood the derision for Toto. Had his limitations but then so did most of the team around him at the time. Always gave his best, never hid and was a great presence in our limited defence at the time. Also there seems to have built up this idea that he was always giving away penalties. Can’t be ar**d to check myself but I don’t think it was that many in comparison with our other defenders then. Happy to be proved wrong though

Good humble guy too

He could look ok at times, but then would do something daft and his whole game would fall apart. Selling Adam Webster cheaply to bring in him and Jon Nolan was an abysmal piece of business.

And if people get nervous watching us with the ball at the back at the moment, then it was probably a good thing that Toto, Wilson and Tamas Holy's attempts to do the same coincided largely with covid absences.

Town got £3.5m plus add-ons for Webster, & he'd only managed 2 half-season with us as a result of injuries. I think you need a lot of hindsight to call that "cheaply".
The bigger issue was that Hurst wasted a lot of money on a bunch of average lower league players, such as Nsiala, Nolan etc.

Great with last ditch blocks. Gave away fewer penalties than the popular remembrance suggests - and a lot of it was because throwing himself in the way or trying to tackle was the final despairing effort of a very porous defence.

However, he couldn't have done the job in the 2022-24 or 2025-26 back-lines, not good enough at interception or carrying the ball forward.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Still feel the injustice of his red card at Sheff Wed, when Forresteri tripped over Nsiala long after he had cleared the ball. The appeal added another game ban which was mental as well.

That wouldn't even have been given as a foul a few years ago, but the way football is refereed has changed beyond all recognition, whether we like it or not.

He didn’t get an extra game, just the three for the red.

The only ever time I’ve known an extra game is Jon Stead, it shouldn’t even have been a red let alone an extra game for frivolous appeal.

Not seen it happen to anyone since for more obvious red cards that have been appealed.

Why. No one is comparing them as players. That would be silly

Unless thats what you somehow got from that.

Was just curious to know the pen numbers of the two.

Ah i see

Basically. Was asking as the toto pen thing. Did he give alot away or was that a myth

I mentioned greaves as he has from memory conceded a few pens. So was just curious of the figures.

Actually thinking that. Davis too might have conceded more than toto too. Not sure

Toto always looked awkward - hence the penalty thing.

Other than looking awkward, he was more than a bit shite too, but that could be said of many of his team mates around that time.
