These ones don't sit comfortably, the guy who scores is offside when the first ball is played and by being beyond the last defender he's in a position to get to the cross first. If you gain an advantage from being in an offside position it should be offside. I know they keep pissing about with the offside law and it's all about phases now but I feel sorry for Hearts on this one. |  |

Have the rules changed? We had years of VAR giving offside because someone’s fingertip was, even if the rest of their body wasn’t. Now his whole body is offside except his foot and that’s considered onside now? I’m genuinely confused. | | | |

Thats how it used to be but the laws got changed I think. I am with you the scorer has gained an advantage from being ahead of the defender already to be ahead of him when the ball is crossed. They need to look at that again. | | | |
