Southampton punishment 17:10 - May 20 with 2142 viewsbloozboiz

Am I the only one that actually thinks the Southampton punishment wasn't harsh enough? Personally I think automation relegation would have been a fairer punishment

Nope, I agree. Every game they played is now under suspicion and ruins the integrity of the league. If you award them all as 3-0 wins to the opposition Oxford stay up and Wrexham make the playoffs. Who would have played Millwall in the first leg.

Hull would have played Boro. So you’d have a very different competition. The fact that England doesn’t punish clubs hard enough is a real issue.

well its not every game though is it, if as it seems allegedly that it was something Tonda started doing at the club, then all of the games Russell Martin managed are in the clear, though obviously those are the games that got him the sack in the first place.

Only the FA could do that, and they were legally unable to take any action until the appeal hearing had been done and dusted. Give em a chance!

Haha, OK didn't realise that was how things worked.

Let's hope they support the EFL and take the desired action

The Northern Echo sets the right stance, here, IMHO.

Chances are if they cheated in December they've been doing it every match since, they made a very poor defence in claiming the three games they did citing they hadn't won as if to make out the gained no advantage.

They've not been completely honest and no one in the club has taken responsibility. Incredibly poor ethically all round especially on their own fans.

Hope more clubs can prove spying and further points deduction tbh so yes I agree with you.

I think they should all be tarred and feathered then put in public stocks in Portsmouth docks for the duration of next season.

Maybe the Portsmouth fan with the bell should stand beside them. ?

I’m probably in the minority, but I think Southampton's punishment is fair, and if anything, a bit harsh. Being thrown out of the playoff final is enough, in my eyes."

True but you can’t implement the sanctions in that way. It’s such a mess that the only fair outcome for everyone is saints being punished properly.
