Southampton loan keeper anyone 08:53 - May 21 with 1916 viewsReusersTown

Going soely off his worldie game against us and Southampton's form with him in goal, is Peretz an option for us? Good pedigree too. No idea of what he'd be valued at though tbh.

He made a worldie save right at the end

He could arguably have done better with Burn's goal

His distribution was pretty shaky

No doubt their results improved when he joined, and he kept them in games, but I am not bowled over by him TBH - prefer Rushworth if we dipping into the well of Championship keepers

I thought he was hopeless with his distribution. Seemed to constantly kick the ball to us. Clearly a good shot stopper but not sure if he's good enough all round and I think getting the right keeper is going to be hugely important. Signing Muric was probably one of our worst bits of business last time around in the Prem, he cost us far too many points with big errors during the part of the season where we still had a bit of momentum and were playing quite well.

I'd like us to sign Nick Pope. He is a very good shot stopper, and we will be a side who come under a lot of shots.

We should be looking at Vitek from Man Utd.

He's been excellent for Saints, and signed by Bayern as a youngster and played some Bundesliga games for them; just being part of a squad like that is huge.

He was excellent shot stopper whenever I watched him, had a goals prevented of 7 in 20 games.

Spoke to a Saints mate about him - said Excellent top drawer shot stopper, good at claiming crosses, all round solid game - kicking can be a touch ropey and makes the odd miscue but that is generally sound - also is a mad bloke too which is a good keeper. Can't talk highly enough about how good he's been and the impact he's made and no chance they'd have made the play offs without him

I agree on the Nick Pope shout but at some point we have to try and find a long term solution to the GK position.

We've not had a goalie play more than one season for almost 5 years now!

If you watch KMs post match presser after that Saints game he does single him out and call him an excellent keeper or something like that.

I prefer Vitek I think though.

I'd prefer Rushworth too but feel he's outside the realms of realistic now, and will be going back to Brighton, with there also being rumours of Chelsea about.

Don't really agree with the Burns goal, was basically a free shot from about 12 yards out powerfully hit. Slow mo made it look like he had a chance.

I'm thinking we're probably going to be pivoting to being more pragmatic this time around and a solid keeper with elite shot stopping is where we're going to be at. (Which is sadly Muric if we weren't forcing to take as many risks)

Peretz would be a big step up on Walton.

Wikipedia says he's on loan from Bayern, not a perm team member

If that makes any difference

I had forgotten that he was clearly really involved in all aspects of play, not just organising his defence. Didn’t he run all the way to Manning to impart some advice before he scored from the free kick? Definitely not an introvert, but his kicking is not great….

He prevented 6.54 goals in 20 matches ....

Walton prevented 5.55 in 37 matches for comparison ....

Jander is their best player and going to the top IMO.

If we were going to go there Jander is the only one that really appeals.
