On 6th May 1978 after 77 minutes of missing chances midfielder Roger Osborne hit the low shot to win the FA Cup . He wasn't a striker at all and certainly wasn't the best Ipswich Striker over a season, that must be Paul Mariner but that was the best strike by a Town player just edging out the Magilton hat trick against Bolton and that last minute Sarmiento goal against Southampton in 2024 |  | | |

Sadly, he died at 48.
My first Ipswich game in April 1969 had Wigg and John O'Rourke up front, with an 87th winning goal from Wigg.
