It’s good for the gardens.

Lovely drop of ‘Adams Ale’ as my Grandmother called the rain.

So much for all this global warming,it wasn’t invented back then in the 1970s.

My Butts are filling nicely.

Have a good day people.

Haha, yes the summer of 76 probably my first memories as a kid, raining here too and can't believe like you I'm thinking this is good for the garden even though I hate gardening!

Yes wonderful times, where I lived we were surrounded by farm land, fields and woods.

We’d be out on our pushbikes and that later went to step through Honda 50s we’d buy off the old girls when there husbands had finished with them,we’d strip them right down (the Hondas not the old girls) and use them on a track round the fields.. we’d also ride them on MOD land and get chased by the Military Police.

But as we knew all the short cuts through the woods we never got caught.

Happy times buh.

Did you forget to add (the Hondas not the old girls) after that bit too?

My mum always called it Adam’s Ale too. I’m guessing me butts are refilling as I am in Suffolk this week.

Certainly my potatoes, courgettes, tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, chilli plants will be happy little fellas.

The summer of 76 was great, as was 75. Sunshine all the way.

76 summer hols was all outdoors. Walking cycling, messing about and 5 or 6 weeks away from home doing something I’d always wanted to do that needed good weather.

I remember in '76 when it finally rained after all those months people came out into the street and just stood in the rain.

Have a read of this Benters.

El Nino itself is a natural event as I understand it, but there will be feedback and an interrelation with man made climate change. The territory that this puts the interlinked climate systems of the world into now is terrifying, truly terrifying.

A really good article on the BBC with lots of graphics for ease of understanding and clarification for people like me who need visual help to understand text and numbers sometimes.

El Nino affects the southern hemisphere more directly than us in the north, but the probable scale of this one plus the fact that we're a massive half a degree hotter (yes that is massive in the global energy balance context) than the last big El Nino in 2016, is likely to make things extremely unpredictable later this year, even here. Southern hemisphere things could be catastrophic.

If this El Nino is towards the top end of its possible range, who knows what the whole world is about to face.

It's not too late to make things at least a little less bad.

You've got to be crazy, immensely thick or hiding under stone to ignore the dangerous state we've put our poor planet into, and the risks and consequences which are now right on top of us.

I don't know if you make these posts to try to fool yourself, or whether it's some sort of gallows humour or what, but those of us who care about other people and about the entire fragile natural balance of this world find them immeasurably irresponsible and offensive.

Sort yourself out.
