Hence Gary O’Neil, I’ve said this on two separate threads. It’s fast becoming a self fulfilling prophecy Ashton FC

If he wasn’t bossing an inexperienced manager around when they were trying to sign players in League One, I can’t see him deciding to adopt a dictatorial attitude with a new manager when trying to sign players in the Premier League.

Although McK had leverage because of his own success here whereas a new manager might only have the same independence of mind as Werhun or Nash.

The club’s governance structure remains a big flaw and McK’s departure both strengthens Ashton’s position and makes the next move riskier for the whole club.

Im not concerned about that really.

He is 1/1 on managers here. His record and Bristol City was scary though. And I am scared at ho much he speaks about his love for British coaches, you need to widen your net.

Luke Werhun is the transfer guy (isn’t he Ashtons son in law or something?) and it’s nor really in Ashtons purview to look at recruitment like that.

If recruitment is the factor then it’s LW who didn’t do the right things lately and go for players who were in reach and improved us enough. If it’s a factor for McKenna it won’t be the most significant one.

Just a baseless negative comment for the sake of it.

Lets remember this is the man who hired a totally unknown Kieran Mckenna and has overseen the most successful period of our club in the modern era, one that trumps just about every story in the EFL besides Wrexham.

You should have every faith in the world given his managerial hiring record.

Been some really thick stuff said on here last few days but this is up there.

Mark Ashton is a shareholder of ITFC and will no doubt want to leave and cash that in some day.

Therefore, he will want somebody capable of keeping us in the premier league first and foremost and beyond all else ffs.

What is that “concern” based on as I see no facts that support it.

My concern is people like you making things up and claiming things you don't actually know as being facts.

Damaging.

Stop it.

If I was a football club manager and I had someone like a CEO or Chairman telling me how to run things player wise and trying to boss me around, I'd tell him to do one and I'm not kidding. I'd be straight out of the door with a raised middle finger. There's absolutely no proof whatsoever of anything like that happening, but if it has, we'd have far greater things to worry about than just Kieron leaving. Managers do not interfere with the day to day running of a professional football club. CEO's and Chairman should have absolutely nothing to do with the playing side, with the exception of the wheeling and dealing with transfers after players that the manager wants have been " signed off ".
