You'd think with no manager and so many players away in World Cup we won't see much activity from the club until a manager is appointed.
While making sure we get the right man (or woman) we really don't want this to hamper our business as we need a settled squad with a full preseason to give us the best chance of survival.

The recruitment team won't have stood down, and other clubs seem to make transfers when between managers, if we are data driven now, it's not impossible that we could see someone come in tomorrow.

June is never a particularly busy month anyway.

It's feasible although I really do expect Ashton and co to take their time.
In his interview on Thursday, he said "It’s interesting already the quantum of names that have come in" alongside “It’ll be very detailed, it’ll be very thorough".
Ashton is clearly a people person and I think he will want to ensure he has really got an understanding of some of the foreign candidates he is less familiar with.
If it took him 12 days with UK based candidates in League 1, I find it hard to think he will make a decision in 5/6 for a global search which is broader and more important.

I very much doubt managers in contention won't have been aware before the announcement. Agents and contacts will have been given the nod as soon as there was any chance the role might be coming up.
I'd not be surprised to see someone at 6pm tomorrow or any point this week with the deal signed off after being agreed already. |  |
