I get the point, and 100% agree with bringing the fleet up to standard. But that said, we have submarines capable of taking it out. Doing so with another warship would be risky.

Would taking it out from the air be feasible?

Taking it out at all would have huge ramifications ... just like if the frigate had sunk the yacht (at which point sinking the frigate would have legitimacy).

Sure. But we don't have a missile defence system to cope with the incoming nukes the next day.

I don't think we have that capability... Quick Google suggests we retired that missile class. Due to the cost, probably better to replace with land and sea drones. Could build a more credible deterrent following Ukraine's model against Russian naval vessels.

Okay Neville, we have nukes. They aren't firing nukes. Just like they didn't when Turkey wiped one of their planes for violating their airspace.

The Russians dont have anti missile capacity to deal with our nukes either. And ours are more likely to work.

No, it is a complete and deliberate overreaction based on us seizing a shadow fleet boat. If I attempted to make contact with a baby crawling towards me "dangerously", and then shot at it because it didn't listen, you'd think I was crazy, and you'd be right. It is a crazy action to take. It sounds like people would rather blow it up and kill everyone on board causing a massive international crisis (whilst leaving widows and kids without a father/mother).

I'd rather take it out because of multiple hostile instances. You can only ignore them for so long. Russia have killed people on our soil. They view us as the enemy. They need to go back to Russian waters. They won't without credible deterrents. Part of the credibility is using it.
