I think he gives us a reasonable chance of staying in the PL and in reality whether we survive or get relegated again is going to be down to effective recruitment. Regular PL survivors like Fulham, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham have changed managers regularly but their recruitment has generally been good. The managers gets all the attention and opinions but our survival will almost certainly be down to the skill of the recruitment team and the ability of senior management to get the deals done.

Yeah spot on - it is the job of MA and the recruitment team to give him a squad that he can't have any excuses with now. I actually think it is quite heartening that he has chosen to come here. He must have faith in the promises he has been made.
I think people forget he had a nice job at Strasbourg. A club which might be frustrating in some ways but ultimately you are always going to be funneled players that make you competitive enough to push for the European spots in the French league.
