Wonder how Kieran is feeling now? 13:22 - Jun 24 with 2690 viewsringwoodblue

Hopefully he is already feeling better, has been able to start enjoying his time off and spend more time with his family but having a new manager appointed to replace him must also generate a lot of mixed emotions for him. Having someone else take over his team, a team that he has been so close to and lived and breathed for 4.5 yrs must feel rather strange.

I wonder if he has watched O’Neil’s presser and TV interview or if he’s completely avoided keeping up with the club news for his own wellbeing.

Having myself handed over a long-established work team that I built and managed for many years to someone else, I have some idea about the rollercoaster of emotions he might be going through and I wish him all the best.

I reckon he's looking forward to watching Town and the rest of the PL from the comfort of his sofa, beer or coffee in hand, kids playing nearby, totally relaxed that he doesn't have to worry about any of it!

I think the PL season we had must've taken a lot out of him and possibly knocked his confidence quite a bit. Maybe the prospect of going through it again is what triggered the decision to go and, ironically, if we'd missed promotion he'd still be with us? Who knows.
In any event I wish him all the best - he's been a massive part of the transformation over the last 5 years and I'll always be grateful for that

Did they beg you to go back on the group chat once the new manager insisted they cut the gherkins a different way?

I obviously wish him the best for his life and career, but he walked away from us. The main thing that concerns me now is us getting large chunk of compensation if he gets employment in the next 12 months.

That might be harsh, but my concern now, and has been the whole time and will be forever, is ITFC

When I saw my ex with her new partner I just felt sorry for him tbh.

Not sure McKenna will feel like that though.

It would not surprise me if he has an open invitation to sit in the directors box at home games.

I wonder if he'll do any pundit work over the next season ? I'd be fascinated to hear what he'd have to say about games.

I hope he is feeling more refreshed. I have done similar recently and quit a high profile job because it was affecting my family life and mental health. It's a very difficult thing to do as I felt I had failed but it is also one of the best things I have done. Burn out is not great!!!

Hi Keir

I don’t get it,he is a very wealthy man who could afford not to work ever again if he chose to.

Or he can come back into football whenever he feels.

Who wouldn’t be happy with those onions?

Hi Keir

Well old free gear multi millionaire Sir Kier will never have to work again either. No doubt those fulsome expense claims will be rolling in over the next month or two as well. Happy days. Those magnificent House of Lords lunches (some of the best in London) and £371 a day expenses beckon!

To the point, who knows how McKenna is feeling? Not that I care particularly. He’s made his choice and has gone. Fine. Whenever I moved on from a job, employer or even role, I never looked back. One door closes, another opens. I tried to leave somewhere on the best possible terms and the job as neat and tidy as I could leave it. Then move on. But that’s me. Other people think differently on such things and I’ve no idea what type of person McKenna is.

He’s always struck me as organised and calculating and if I was a gambler (I’m not!) I’d bet he’s already planning or in the process of planning his next move. I will be very surprised if he is not working in three or four months time, latest.
