Anyone else off to see Metallica at London stadium tomorrow/Sunday? 19:11 - Jul 2 with 1411 viewsDubtractor

Last saw them back in 1993 at Milton Keynes bowl, probably about time I caught them again!

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Yes, and Sunday. My first "big gig" in a while because I figured as they must be well into their 60's now it will be the last time to see them.

I try to do more gigs at The Music Room, the Arts Centre (Colchester) and even Waterfront in Norwich these days to support the great Metal bands we have locally. They aren't supported nearly as well as they should be, despite being as good, if not better than some of the legacy acts and they cost a fraction to see.

Yes, off tomorrow, decent way to start what has now become an even longer weekend!

I feel exactly that same way about Metallica, but didn’t make the effort to get tickets. They’re probably the only band I’ll end up having regrets for not seeing live. They can’t have much longer left while they’re still worth seeing. I’ve no excuse; it’s not like they’ve not been around a while.

UK events are oversubscribed. I went to see Metallica in Madrid Metropolitan stadium at the start of this long on-running tour in 2024. I was mulling it over for 2 weeks, then still got some, seeing them on sale still. The Uk events sell out in an hour, I managed to snaffle Muse at the o2 in the pre-sale recently for November. £140 a ticket they wanted £300 for good seats, and they sold lightning quick.

Metallica were very good my wife is more avid than me it was her treat from me. Great circular stage setup and light effects and volume. A weekend in Madrid too, fact is i'll need to work out how much to pay for a hotel for Muse, could be nearly £300 near o2. May as well go to a European concert i'd recommend it

If you see a bloke of 50 with a beard and a black t-shirt come and say hi.

I'm sure I'll be the only one there who fits that description......

See them on the Justice tour at Hammersmith odeon, around 87 I think, fantastic. Then Death magnetic in 2009 at O2, they were OK. Their recordings since then have been very hit and miss. I wouldn't be paying those prices to see them again.

I randomly felt like listening to 'Orion' yesterday and found this recent live performance on YouTube, your European tip sounds very informed...

Close, later tonight I will be watching my daughter's band Nutellaca at the local arts center. Named after their love of both Nutella and heavy metal.

Nutellaca were absolutely excellent, thanks Dub. All aged between 10 and a half and 13.

Couldn't even play the triangle at that age
