Shirt Prices 15:19 - Jul 3 with 2890 viewsitfc48

I see they’ve followed the industry trend and added another 10% on. Think we’ve gone from £48 to £65 during the Umbro era.

I was trying to work that out. Were they £59 last time out?

Rip off prices by all clubs tbh, considering they cost about £10 to make.

People will buy them they must have the latest shirt.

Are they the same prices throughout the 4 leagues? Or the more successful you become the more the shirts cost ?

Or even less, given that I can get almost perfect copies through a middleman in China for about €10 a pop.

I like the away one but i'll only consider buying it at the end of the season in the sale. Not worth that sort of price to me.

Probably not ITFC, unfortunately. There's not enough demand to incentivise them to do a decent job, so you end up with a shirt in slightly the wrong shade of blue that stands out like a sore thumb.

I got some of the World Cup shirts, though, and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them and the genuine article.

Think yourselves lucky, I know Rangers are Umbro and theirs are now £85 and I imagine the likes of West Ham etc will probably be higher (even being in the Championship).

Exactly - it'll be whatever the club think they can get away with.

Had we started from a higher base than £48 when GC took over, the prices would be at an even higher level now.

As with the season tickets, it's all about small incremental increases that are palatable at the time, but add up to a massive increase over a longer period.

Got both my kids the England shirt on DH Gate, absolutely no chance I'm paying £70 a piece from Sports Direct for them. They're pretty much identical to the official ones, certainly to the naked eye. Its greed really, were they £40 a pop I would've just bought the official ones.

Losing a few quid in shirt sales isn't going to impact our transfer budget, in exactly the same way as adding £10 to the cost of a shirt isn't going to noticeably impact budgets.

None of this is about generating useful revenue - it's all about increasing the value of the bottom line when you capitalise the income.

It's harming the club.

It's literally rewarding someone for stealing from the club.

For the bigger clubs/national teams, the fake shirts usually go through a number of batches. The first ones will be produced based on rumours or leaked images, and they'll gradually get better until they're all but identical.

I imagine that there's not enough demand with ITFC for more than one initial run, hence the dodgy shades of blue, and the yellow detailing on the recent burgundy/gold away shirt.

That said, on the other hand, if a better batch did get released, you probably wouldn't notice those ones.

Yer, its shocking really isn't it. They're only polyester. No sustainability factor in footbsll kits. Its pure licence to print money by clubs unfortunately.

I've just dumped £150 on shirts for me and my son, but I still think this is a stupid and pious thing to say.

Not everyone can afford or justify these crazy prices, that doesn't mean they're suddenly not entitled to an opinion about transfer business or other matters to do with the club.

Very little in life is priced on a cost plus basis, but a value perception basis. Those who don't appreciate it from a value perspective have the option not to buy.
