Good shout. It is but I think it must be a Greene King pub which is why I thought the Golf.

I think you’re right it’s a Greene king pub deffo with the abbot there… Golf is still a goldmine I believe or has the potential to be.. Brickies not sure if it’s still going or even if if it was a Greene king…?it’s somewhere with town memorabilia .. greyhound is Adnams ?

I saw the Brantham bull posted it earlier on their socials, so assumed it was them good spots on the chalkboard though. And if you Google Brantham Bull literally first image matches the scene, its the main bar.


I hadnt realised they were a GK pub though,, thought they were a freehouse, unless its the magic of marketing just happening to have 4-4-brew and sponsor friendly setup :D I shall put it on the list to investigate.

They might serve Greene King but it isn't a GK owned or managed pub.

As someone else said, used to be owned by the bloke in In Ain't half hot mum.

Was on a recent episode of Bill Bailey's oub walks thing where they rather stretched the facts in claiming to have hosted the Witchfindee general - that infamy is very much over the river in Mistley.

Been to a couple of Xmas lunches there and always been happy with meals. And has a lovely view to the Stour from the beer garden.
