I think the point is that, while there are some intellectually challenged people like dear Benters, who are too far gone, at the margin this is likely to have an effect. They are already on a down trend in the polls.

Coincides too with Kemi having a bit of an upturn and Lowe's rabble taking some of their vote as well.

To my earlier point though, if you believe, as I do, he has no intention of running for PM, this is the perfect chance for him to leave of his own accord - especially if there's a Clacton recall.

I think he's done either way.

I do agree that he doesn't want to be PM.

I think he probably didn't expect his frankly awful policies to be so popular with the public.

He doesn't want to be pm, just happy to poison the well whilst feathering his own nest by lobbying for bad people.

I think people are underestimating his backers,

Nige, if you can just stay at it and if you get in, do the Crypto thing for us, retire on health grounds, and we will make it worth your while.
